16 Jan 10 - 02:19 PM (#2813767) Subject: RE: Cat got your tongue? -- your caption From: Donuel You know I used to post origninal cartoons exclusively on mudcat and ask for legitimate captions in all sincerity. Then someone started asking for captions to stuff they copied and pasted here from time to time. Now its practicly twice a week. After awhile even the cute becomes as annoying as another hackneyed 'Love Is' cartoon. At least put some personal creativity into a process like using your own photos of your pet, yourself or family. And if thats too personal, draw one yourself. If its easy, it probably isn't good. If it looks easy it is probably well done, if its hard...thats the price of making somthing yourself. But if it makes you happy, do whatever works. Like a squeaky door, its not like you are harming anyone. |

17 Jan 10 - 04:25 AM (#2814083) Subject: RE: Cat got your tongue? -- your caption From: Genie As has been pointed out before, Donuel, the simplest remedy for the annoyance these threads bring you is simply not to open them. I can't begin to count the number of Mudcat threads I don't open, simply because the topic either doesn't interest me or because I don't expect to have any knowledge to contribute. FWIW, I totally disagree with the idea that captioning photos isn't creative unless they're your own photos. The creativity and the fun is in coming up with the captions. And if it's not fun, just don't play. : ) |
