27 Jan 10 - 11:14 AM (#2822613) Subject: BS: Slanted and biased Thread Titles. From: Donuel In the past I have seen personal complaints whenever I used inflamatory thread titles or cryptic puns too obscure to accurately describe the contents of the post. Fair enough. I agree clarity should be paramount, except in cases when jest is involved. Of course part of the fun of instant messaging is not having to obey journalistic rules. However I have noticed a trend of 'over the top' thread names lately whose intent may be to attract a heated response or criticism. It seems progressives often take a polite approach such as "Observations of ____" while conservative titles are more likely to have a sky is falling tendency. "Obama can't find his ass with two hands". Its not always the case. Sometimes it happens in reverse. Having reached an age of crumudgeondom I felt a need to call attention to these thread titles that burn rather than illuminate. When it comes to the most outrageous biased, spun over the top thread titles, I know them when I see them. Where's the _____ _____ Kills _____ Now if there is one most offensive thread title, I would like to know what it is, to avoid making such mistakes in the future. |

From: Donuel touche' In place of current politically incorrect words there are new code words which make them more difficult to decipher and more able to diseminate. When decoded, the offense is revealed. Yet the remark may have an ulterior motive to deflect attention away from an even larger group of criminals. ("Bernie Madoff moved to private cell for protection" decoded greedy kike sodomized!) deflects attention away from AIG. Somtimes sublte: FOX news will give you a fair and balanced review of Obama's captive prime time state of the union address. sometimes not; Obama is currently huddling with advisors to spin his health care failures and job disasters, having wasted his first year in office. |

Most of the time, reasonable responses are not what is wanted, anyway. |
