Please can anyone identify the artist/recorded version of "Green Leaves Of Summer" being played in fragments
throughout tonight's BBC4 documentary

"Shooting the War - episode 2"

You can hear the intro just after 31 mins into the program.

I've checked every recording I can find online so far, and it's none of them.

Thanks.

Cannot get the download in my area tonight, but have you tried the version by "The Brothers Four?"

thanks for reply, but it's none of the obvious candidates as far as I know,
or any of the more obscure performances I can find on youtube.

More of an easy-listening big studio production version ?

Sounds like the version in the sound-track to The Alamo. Had John Wayne in it.

Don't the BBC have a help-line on which to ask such questions?

I think it's this (at least it's pretty close):

thanks, but no its not that one either.

I should have emailed BBC direct, but i'm so sick of dealing with UK corporate
call service centres
I thought I'd check with mudcat experts first.

and also to be honest, just wanted to share a very poignant well presented social history documentary
with old mudcat friends who might otherwise have missed it
for fear of tuning into that modern transistor nuclear electrical digital space age telly BBC4
