Red Brand guitar strings

Anyone familiar with this product? Maybe not; it seems to be brand-new. I encountered their facebook "fan" page yesterday.

I'm passing this info along because (A) it seems like it might be good and (B) they were promoting the product by offering FREE SAMPLES, a policy which I always endorse. When I found their page yesterday, I immediately emailed my request for the freebee, complete with mailing address.

Now I see that the free offer expired more than a week ago. I guess I won't be getting free strings after all, at least not soon. There is a vague promise to repeat the offer sometime. Ah well ~ I might just go ahead and BUY one set...

Quotes from the facebook page:

"80/20 has 80% copper. phosphor bronze has 91% copper. that's why phosphor bronze sounds warmer. RED Brand Strings have 99.5% copper. If you are looking for warmth, look no further."

"RED Brand Strings are the first brand of copper bronze acoustic strings out there. And we need your help. Please become a fan of RED Brand Strings, then email us your address and prefered string gauge. We'll send you a free set. Introducing RED Brand. Add some warmth. info@redguitarstrings.com." But then I saw another message saying that the offer had expired on Jan 19.

I haven't gone to their actual website (redguirtarstrings.com) yet; will do so next. I'll give them a few working days to respond to my email; I'm sure they'll tell me I missed the free-offer deadline, and MAYBE offer another alternative. Like I said above, I'll probably buy myself a non-free sample soon enough, but I'll wait a while first in case they make any kind of offer, such as a discount...

Thanks to Joe, or joeclone or mudelf or whoever, for deleting my accidental prefix.

Update: Although the (now expired) free-sample offer proposed mailing a set of strings, the company does NOT sell via mail-order. When I went to their website, I learned that the strings are available only through various US retail outlets, including the Guitar Center chain and a few others. I learned that there are NO retailers in my area except the local Guitar Center, which is fairly distant from my house and requires driving through the worst traffic in the area. I hate the trip, but do go there occasionally when it's unavoidable.

The Red Brand facebook page has been asking "what's your favorite online store?" which would seem to indicate that they are looking into internet mail-order through a reseller. If and when such arrangements are made their product will be available outside the US and worldwide...
