Banbury Song & Ale weekend 9th - 11th April 2010

Hi

A very happy Festival Year to you all!

We are pleased to announce that the flier/dowloadable booking form for our Banbury Folk Festival Fundraiser Song and Ale weekend is now up on our website.(Plus one for a friend or relative!) www.banburyfolkfestival.co.uk

Last year we raised about £1000 for the Festival and everyone had a great time too! We are sticking to the same formula of singarounds, interspersed with tunes with some surprise guests, workshops and games plus the Grand National Sweepstake! Camping is available plus a Real Ale Bar. A choice of Hot meals will be on sale for Friday and Saturday nights @£6 per head, plus daytime snacks and breakfast rolls. If you cannot make it for the whole weekend you can come for part of it! Friday night or Sunday @£5 and Saturday @£10.

Also, if any of you are going to Cheltenham Folk Festival next weekend, pop in to our song and music session, which we run at the Bell Inn, Bath Road on Friday and Saturday nights.

Cheers!
Derek and Mary

All the links on the website lead only to TBA. No info on lineup, camping, or tickets. The application form won't load for me either?

wazzup?

Tam - the link from MGAS's post is still working fine for me (and assuming you clicked specifically on the link for the song and ale, not the October main festival, not sure why you're having problems).

The location is the Drayton golf club. Tickets cost £15 for the weekend and camping (outdoor only) is free. The guests are always a surprise - the main format is singarounds, incorporating guest spots.

Hope you can make it!

Thanks Kitty

It was Google Chrome not letting the flier open. This time it worked.   And yeah! I had it wrong way round, thinking the website was for the Song and Ale.

I will start niggling my husband about this. It could be christening of our new/old caravan.

Hi everyone

Things are hotting up now. We've got some super surprise guests lined up and lots of fun things planned, as well as some very fine singers and musicians coming!

Sorry you had problems getting to the flier Tam, and thanks Kitty for helping out!

So if you haven't sent off for them yet ..... hurry up and get your tickets!

As for snow..... Do we really want more?

No we dont want more snow. An unattractive side affect of the snow we had there at april a couple of years back was that it stopped all the plum trees fruiting which included sloes and damsons which make such wonderful gin. Will have to get my tickets sorted, we're definatley going to be there

It didn't affect my plums ; but then I didn't roll around in it !

Glad to hear you are coming Mrs Scarecrow!

We have just come back from Cheltenham races so haven't had a chance to check the PO Box yet to see how many more of you have ordered tickets. If you haven't done so yet please do so soon, so we can get some idea of numbers!

What's all this rolling around in the snow business? Spring has at last arrived and we definitely want it to stay!!! Sloe gin sounds good too!

Looking forward to a great weekend's singing and don't forget there is a racing connection too with our Grand National Sweepstake!

Merek and Dary

PS: Dary got the winner of the Gold Cup!

Dear Derek and Mary,
Jen & Terry Davies (man in hat with ferret). Still not had tickets though sent cheque several weeks ago- in fact posted 10th march. We will turn up anyway but it would be nice if you could let us know if it arrived and whether we are booked. We have not been home at Leamington for a week or so but went today in hope of getting tickets - but no luck. Are now back dog sitting for daughter near Daventry but am able to receive e-mails on: jendavies_ludlow@yahoo.co.uk.
