11 Feb 10 - 08:09 PM (#2836698) Subject: Guitarist/musicians wanted, Bristol UK From: Suegorgeous hi I'm a singer of both traditional and self-penned songs, both acapella and with a couple of folk bands in the past. I've had a sudden writing spurt recently, and I'm looking for a guitarist (and/or fiddler, cellist, pianist) to arrange and perform them, as well as a few of the gorgeous traditional songs I love to do. If you're interested, or you know someone who might be, please get in touch. Thanks Sue |

16 Feb 10 - 05:03 PM (#2841275) Subject: RE: Guitarist/musicians wanted, Bristol UK From: Nick This is only asked lightheartedly, Sue, but you seem to be having great difficulty finding someone to play with as this is the umpteenth time you've asked. Have you committed some terrible deed in the past? :) Try Yorkshire - lots going on |
16 Feb 10 - 07:08 PM (#2841444) Subject: RE: Guitarist/musicians wanted, Bristol UK From: Suegorgeous Lancslad - hmmmm, I know.... family ties, gggrrrr!!! Nick - no, only the second time in 6 months, I think? (you probably saw all my refreshes) and then I went travelling, off and on, for a few months, so kind of gave up... I must be looking in the wrong places! :( And yes, probably I'm not the easiest singer to work with, because firstly, I tend to sing mainly slow melancholy songs, and a lot of musicians, particularly fiddlers, want to play fast; and secondly, I'm extremely finicky about the songs I'll sing. I'll only sing songs of my choosing, and I'm afraid many folk songs do leave me cold, if I'm honest... Yorkshire's a tad too far for weekly practice... |

Nick - forgot to add, my first bout of advertising about a year ago got me a fiddler, and we had a great 6 months of playing and gigging, before she had to stop for family reasons. |
