Good-quality tenor banjo?

Hi there. I'm looking into the idea of buying a tenor banjo for a sing-along kids' program I'm performing. This is not my regular music gig, so this doesn't need to be investment-grade... just a good working player's instrument.

What brands of tenor would anyone recommend in the $200 to $300 range?

Thanks in advance.

A Goldtone or a Good Time. They stay in tune as well as is possible for a banjo and the sound good too.

Gold Tone every time. Sound good, stay in tune and are solidly built for hard work. They do a range of scale lengths too. I have two; a tenor and a five string, and they're just great.

Like mandotim said. I have a Gold Tone 17-fret resonator tenor that sounds just great. They are not cheap to buy new, but you may well find something to your taste at second hand.
