It?s a liquid that you pour onto the record surface and then massage into the grooves until it has created a coating over the record about 1mm thick. You then leave it to dry for a few hours and then peel off, taking the ground-in debris. It's a bit like giving your records a facial! About the Inventor Cary Stoddard, from Cairns in QLD, started working in the audio industry 30 years ago. In that time he managed a major Hi Fi chain and then spent many years as consultant building high end home movie theatres for some of Sydney's bigger homes. This is where his inventing really got started. Some of these people wanted things that didn't exist, so he would have to invent them. He has never given up his interest in the audio industry, but as a man of many talents he has been studying law at JCU and is now finishing off his studies at ANU. If some did break away, it could be removed by another application in the affected area, I'd guess. I'll carry on using my good ol' Dust Bug! |

I wouldn't go using it on all of my collection because of the cost but it does do a really job of removing crackles that i thought were unrepairable scratches. |

I can tell you this does work and it peels off very easily. I had one record in particular which was unplayable because it would skip and the noise was particularly strong. I'd tried cleaning it multiple times with disc doctor lp cleaning products and all i achieved in doing was making it worse. But the record revirginizer has helped tremendously. The record didn't skip and the noise had been alleviated. I am using the solution again on this record to see if it improves it further. All my other records have been great with just one application. If you look at the video on their website it is as easy as they show. $2.5-$3 a record to me is a small price to pay. I wouldn't use this for all my records but for those really important rare or favourite ones I certainly am going to. |
