05 Aug 99 - 12:38 AM (#102431) Subject: From: Margo Twenty five years ago I learned three finger picking on the banjo. I played a scant year and never pursued it. Today, I went to the local instrument store in Portland, picked up a banjo and played like I used to! I couldn't believe it! I bought the banjo and will be learning new songs. Have any of you had such an experience, picking up where you left off years ago? Margarita |

You know, the ability to memorize songs. I swear I learn one and loose two. My learning curve is flat lining. My wife suggested I try Kinko Boba, so I went down town looking and realized our little town dos'nt have any hookers. Mudjack |

05 Aug 99 - 08:11 AM (#102492) Subject: RE: Magnificent muscle memory! From: Allan C. Far too many years ago, I brought my guitar to my 15th highschool reunion. Some friends I used to sing with were there. We took up where we left off and sang the old songs until the wee hours of the morning. I packed up my guitar afterwards and, for reasons I still don't really understand, didn't touch it again until the next reunion five years later. Once again, we sat up all night playing and singing. I never missed a chord! I was amazed. In fact, it seemed as if I played better than before! It was enough to make me want to start playing regularly again. I have hardly put it down since then. |

05 Aug 99 - 02:28 PM (#102597) Subject: RE: Magnificent muscle memory! From: Banjoman_CO Yep Margarita, I have found this to be true. I played banjo for quite a while but they laid it down for a good number of years. When I picked it up again I found that I hadn't forgotton much of anything. In fact, I was a little faster and cleaner than I used to be. Amazing isn't it. Just keep on pickin'. Fred |

05 Aug 99 - 03:44 PM (#102619) Subject: RE: Magnificent muscle memory! From: Easy Rider I had the same thing. I put the guitar away for about twenty years, and, when I picked it up again, last Summer, all my old tunes came back to me, one by one. It was very satisfying. Don't wait too long, though. A couple of the old songs, that weren't written down, are lost forever! As for the other thing, that gets worse and worse, no matter how much I practice! EZR |

05 Aug 99 - 10:28 PM (#102695) Subject: RE: Magnificent muscle memory! From: catspaw49 Well what else would it be? A tubris begonia? I suppose you could use Phallusfalin instead of Mycoxaphalin.....'Course now that I think about it, it MIGHT be a LILY, as in, "I've got to shake the dew off my lily." That's bad though 'cause then you get into ALL the euphemisms like "Drain my lizard," which doesn't conjure up the same beauty..........Wait a minute, where'd this start.....ah, to hell with it. The injections (self administered) called EDEX ---have lasted as much as 4 or 5 hours. That's fun when you've got to go outside!? Nobody has ever dared to say anything but I have had some interesting quick glances in my direction. What the hell, 'Liz is happy. Bob |

Several times over the past few months, I have almost contacted you and now, with your presence here, I can speak forthrightly as the loyal and patriotic citizen that I am. I feel it is my duty to report to you a vile plot that was proposed and almost carried out against you to discredit your lovely wife in the eyes of the voting public. You may read about it by clicking here. I hope you will not hold this against Mudcat as a whole. Catspaw49---Loyal American (& please let the IRS know this) |
