New Hampshire's Granny D (Doris Haddock), US Senate candidate, who at 90 years old walked across the US in support of campaign reform, passed away yesterday.

I was fortunate enough to meet her (and have my photo taken with her) about six years ago. Quite a lady.

WMUR Granny D Obit

She not only will be missed, she IS missed.

Man is she. I am so sorry to hear about her passing. She was an amazing spirit and tireless activist for PEOPLE. We need more Granny Ds in the world.

Talk about a Wise Woman! Inspiring, role model, bunches of other attributes and yes! We need more like her. What an amazing woman and life she led. I regret she had to go...thanks, Granny D, for being here.

I figured she'd live forever. I was hoping, anyway.

One of the greats, and a dear friend to many of my dear friends. I got to meet her, and hear her speak, but that's all- but what a privilege it was.

Go, Granny, go, on into the ALL. You still shine!

Sorry to say I only learned about her a few months ago from a Facebook Friend who also told me about Mudcat. Granny D was an inspiration. I wish I could emulate her.
