Let's see... working up a sweat but without the clothes to mop it up, that should cause some steaming and odour. The raised arms for the arches will add to the olfactory punishment. Then there are the visuals; spare tyres continuing swinging after the dancer has stopped ("swing her by the middle" becomes "swing your own middle"), well-matured breasts (of both persuasions) wobbling unsupported, sweaty bare arms and bodies embracing for the basket or to promenade... And then the aural pleasures of all that uncontrolled slapping about, not to mention noises produced during the exertions by naked body parts which would normally be clothed. And that would be just me! |

So it looks as though this is not a record breaker to use Roy Castle's terminology, and any claims that they organisers make to that effect are in vain (I hasten to add that I haven't been able to verify the facts as yet - anybody out there able to verify this???) |

The naturist ceilidh done by the Rhythm Chaps has happened at least once - probably twice and I am fairly sure Jim is correct it was Doncaster. The caller was Chris Sexton. And it was a few years ago. (And if you do go to the Edinburgh event, a tip is to avoid the front row of the food at the buffet) |

I can assure you the initial surprise quickly wears off and you realise these are genuine and friendly people, although Max our fiddle player had a roving mike and was in the thick of it! Just curious I suppose! I suspect nude ceilidhs have been going on for a very long time all over Britain, if they offer good money I'll gladly play for them again, but come on chaps, you,re really surprised are you? |
