I installed the new update of SeaMonkey yesterday, and found a problem. For quite some years, I'd click SeaMonkey and get a choice of using my account (with Mudcat as homepage), default, and my wife's account (AOL homepage, as might be set.) Suddenly that choice disappeared, and the connection automatically would be as my account, with Mudcat as homepage. Using the SeaMonkey integrated email browser, as I have for years, I would have my inbox and associated local directories. Getting online with the choice of my wife's Yahoo identity, the homepage and email would be hers, and so would the inbox and other directories. Now, my wife and I use our email facilities in markedly different ways, and it would just not be possible/acceptable for us to try to share those facilities. I just learned that what happened is that Yahoo, whose facilities we run through, has changed its browser functions, and the choice of multiple accounts is no longer provided. Therefore it looks as if we need to have two browsers, one for each of us. Trouble is, the only browser that I happen to know of that has email integrated in one program with web browsing is SeaMonkey. We each prefer that interface. I do have Firefox, with Thunderbird for email, and the interface of each of those, although unfortunately separate, is very similar to those two functions of SeaMonkey. That's one choice, and could be the final choice. So . . . 1. Is there another integrated browser around? 2. If not, what browser program combination other than FireFox/Thunderbird can anyone recommend? I know of the existence of Opera, and I have downloaded it but not yet installed it. However the current update on my WXP system, 10.10, is giving me trouble. It will not print a song as you see it on-screen, it prints as a block of text. Internet Explorer prints OK. Try downloading from the DT before you commit time to it. |

(lots of new features) I don't know which version you got, as you can always get any older versions of Opera. (I can help with the interface & settings of most versions of Opera if there are any problems.) I, personally, like 10.50 a lot, even though I have NOT used the integrated email in Opera for several iterations now. Email always did work fine in Opera, and I assume it still does, as they seldom release ANYTHING until it's humming smoothly. Opera would be a change from the interface you're used to, but it 'might' be worth it. Firefox would be closer to the 'feel' that you are used to, but as you note, it needs Thunderbird as a companion. I have no idea if Safari browser is an option, but I wouldn't use it personally. |

Then you could use Gmail in any browser. including Google Chrome |

Among others, a problem with Gmail is that they don't keep your information confidential. They market their customers, in effect. They are pretty open about this, as I understand. I have Opera 10.50. I have just discovered the integrated email of it, but have not discovered everything, as should be obvious. So far it seems possible. Dave Oesterreich |

Hmmm... well, I don't use the mail a lot, as my IPS gives us 5 email addresses (and I prefer Eudora as a stand-alone program), but I use the integrated Gmail chat a lot, and haven't noticed any 'marketing' done to me. I'm not sure what 'information' they might be open with. |
