20 Mar 10 - 07:40 PM (#2868345) Subject: Ted and Ivy Poole/SwindonFolk club From: The Sandman I was the guest at the club on March 19[yesterday] I consider myself to have been honoured to present Ted and Ivy,with a special certificate and plaque. Ted and Ivy have been involved in running the club fo 50 years. Swindon Borough Council decide to honour their achievement with a special award and certificate,the award is known as Swindon does arts[arts heroes]there will be only 50 arts heroes in total. I cant think of two more deserving people,I would like to thank Ted and Ivy,for their efforts and for the kindness and encouragement they have shown me over 30 years. as someone that doesnt normally hand out compliments,I must say that I consider myself privileged to have known Ted and Ivy,and once again I enjoyed the club.Dick Miles |

I have been denigrated on this forum by someone who should know better,who described folk clubs as dingy pubs with two men and a dog. well there are several organisers that are on this forum whose clubs have reached forty years,and I say fair play to them too .Dick Miles |
