22 Mar 10 - 03:47 AM (#2869073) Subject: BS: Pollution causing deaths in UK. From: Georgiansilver Ran across this on Yahoo news this morning... since I moved to live in the Trent Valley.. where there are power stations every few miles... my health has deteriorated and my catarrhal condition worsened....... I have always been told that the gases etc emitted from power stations are filtered.. now I wonder what the actual truth is. Anyone else believe they are suffering because of pollution? http://uk.news.yahoo.com/21/20100322/tuk-pollution-causing-early-deaths-6323e80.html |

From: GUEST,Shimrod You don't undestand, 'Georgiansilver' - everything, from the environment to your health, must now be sacrificed to the insatiable demands of the 'Free Market' (Peace and blessings be upon it!). When we vote in all those new politicians, in a few weeks time, they will all (not exactly selflessly) immediately begin to devote themselves to the 'Holy' endeavour of making the rich ever richer (To those that hath shall be given - the rest of you, and everything that walks, swims, flies, crawls and roots in the soil, can just f**k off and die!). |

10 Aug 11 - 01:32 PM (#3205484) Subject: RE: BS: Pollution causing deaths in UK. From: Musket Fuck me. Pollution is so low that you can't even kill yourself with a hosepipe and exhaust any more. Flue Gas desulphurisation (FGD) has lowered the pollution from coal power stations by over 96% (Greenpeace figures, just looked them up.) Tobacco exposure is down, the vast majority of towns and cities are smokeless, Coalite Bolsover is shut, (their cracker gave off huge amounts of dioxins in the '60s and '70s, and Sellafields is a few granite mountains away from 99.9998% of the population of The UK. Revolution? Keep going round in circles whilst I stand watching you going dizzy... In case those who blame big business for everything didn't work it out, let me tell you. There are £££££ to be made in renewables, ££££££ to be made in recycling, ££££££ to be made selling and building FGD plants at power stations, ££££££ to be made lowering pollution. Far more to be made stopping it than causing it. |
