Hi, all you knowledgeable people;

The following song popped into my head the other day and I'm trying to track it down. Was it Roger Miller? Does anyone but me remember it?

The moon is high and so am I, the stars are out, and so will I be,
Pretty soon, (pretty soon, pretty soon)
And I can tell you're mad at me 'cause you stand there a'tellin' me
Good-bye...
But I say no, you can't go, I love you so much I can't let you
Get away, get away, get away,
Come the dawn and it will dawn on me you're gone.

Love, don't leave me, don't leave me layin' here,
This ground is cold and chilly really,
Don't leave your charmin' Billy, way out here..,
Hey! Come back here!
Cause, come the dawn and it will dawn on me you're gone.

There, ain't it strange what stays in your head? Is there more to this song? If it was Miller, maybe not, since a lot of his early stuff was really short.

Just a silly little thing, but it's amusing!

Yes, it was Roger Miller. The title was THE MOON IS HIGH, and it was on his album "Roger and Out," 1964.

I believe this Google Search will take you to a place where you can hear the song.

Excellent - thanks! Don't know why that didn't turn up when I did the initial search, but I appreciate the redirect!

i remember this differently.I thik it went and with the dawn I'll wake and yawn and dream of you.I also thought it was sung by Lonzo and Oscarm,or Homer and Jethro.
