Came into the office to find my phone didn't work. Then my mouse wouldn't mouse. Phone unplugged; sticky note ounder mouse. What next?
Just a little office silliness.
Made me laugh.
And far less embarrassing than the fart machine in my wall last year.

A bear ate my bird feeder, does that count? One got an aluminum pole a couple years ago. Last night, it was a wrought iron pole bent to the ground, and my $9 finch feeder had been stomped. My neighbor said his dogs had been going nuts, so I guess they knew he was on the roam.

At least he didn't try fishing in my basement. The waters had magically receded by this morning anyway.

So that's what the ruckus was about when we were on the phone -- bear waiting for his chance.

I probably won't have to wade to the driveway today, either -- but my shoes are still soaked from Tuesday night. (The water at the foot of the steps to the deck and back door was not only over my shoes, but got the first couple inches of pants legs wet.)

Google changes its name to "Topeka"

That link probably won't be the same tomorrow, so try this:

A different kind of company name

Why I like Google Topeka. I also think I'll sign up for Project Virgle. Sounds like it could be a real hoot!

Now I'm depressed. I took the test for Project Virgle and my my critique was:
"Well, you're distressingly normal and could conceivably adjust to life as a deep space pioneer, though we recommend instead that you leave the Mars missions to the serious whack jobs who scored over 130 and instead finish year 3 of law school, tuck your toddler into bed, design Web 2.0 applications, run for Congress or do whatever other normal, healthy, middle-of-the-road thing you're currently doing with your normal, healthy, middle-of-the-road life. If you're determined to give Virgle a try, though, you can submit your video here."
Me? 'Normal'!?

I am sorry to be forced to announce that Sawzall is actually my own alter-ego. My apologies for the deception. Bearded Bruce is his own man, though, but I have been told we have the same birth-mother.

I got to check off an item from my bucket list a few years ago. A young co-worker stopped in at the shop on his day off, with his wife and their new baby. I looked at the kid, who was beautiful, like the little critters are. But then I realized what day it was, and I couldn't help saying it: "That's the cutest baby I ever saw!

April Fool!"

They took it fairly well.
