Thought for the day- August 8th

...loose-jointed, leathery old cowboys who stopped dreaming when they could nt longer keep one leg on each side and their minds in the middle.

....patience, like hope, was really just another way of decribing the passage of time.

- Angel Fire by Ron Franscell -

Ron is the editor of the Gillette, WY newspaper. I've worked with him when he's published my oped pieces. I just checked this book, his first novel, out from the library and I cannot put it down. It is really good. Anyone who has been a part of the Vietnam experience or been through any kind of loss, soul-searching, emotional family experiences (and who hasn't?) etc. would find this a very lyrical and heart-touching read.

according to the signals catalog i just received, karl jung had this written on a plaque by the front door of his home:

vocatus atque non vocatus deus aderit

(bidden or not bidden, god is present)
