I'm very impressed by Da'Sean Butler and his historic accomplishment of joining Hot Rod Huntley and Jerry West as the only Mountaineers to score 2000 points in a career. Also, of course, I've respected Coach Huggins all through his career. I was rooting for them Saturday, but was not too surprised at Duke's performance. I'm not a Duke-hater, but I haven't been rooting for them recently. A few years ago, when a kid from my high school was one of their star players, I spent a few years as a temporary Duke fan. I'll be glad to see Butler prevail tonight, like pretty much everyone else in the world who's not a Duke alum. But I won't lose any sleep if Coach K and his kids claim another title. They really do have an excellent program and don't deserve the kind of knee-jerk hatred that they seem to inspire simply by doing so well on such a consistent basis. |
