08 Apr 10 - 01:07 PM (#2882199) Subject: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: wysiwyg This old dinosaurette has been invited to put some church stuff up on Youtube. I have sound, and I have photo's I can start with ASAP. How do these montage-things get done? After the sound and image stuff gets harvested and posted I'll start learning how to do videos with sound, but it's baby steps for now and I lack equipt for it anyhoo. Maybe by then another volunteer will come forward! :~) Thanks for any help: "Lucy, splain me!" :~) ~Susan |
08 Apr 10 - 03:04 PM (#2882286) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: Simon G I'm sure there is plenty of software you can buy to do what you want but it is very easy with Microsoft Photo Story 3, its 5 years old but still easier than trying to use the latest version of Moviemaker. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/PhotoStory/default.mspx |
08 Apr 10 - 03:12 PM (#2882290) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: Tootler I found Windows Movie Maker almost as easy to use as Photo Story but very much more flexible. I am sure the home movie editing buffs will tell you how limited they are, but for your purposes, they are just fine. Easy to learn and use and will produce what you appear to need. Since going over to Linux, I have been using Kino. Although that is still a basic editor, it took a lot more learning than either of the Windows products. |
08 Apr 10 - 03:57 PM (#2882317) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: olddude Windows Movie Maker Susan is the way to go OK ... you have it on the tough book I gave you ... need any help call me, you got my number hon Dan |
08 Apr 10 - 04:11 PM (#2882331) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: dwditty I have used a $100 digital camera to shoot video - suprisingly good sound for what it is. I trim the ends with Quicktime and upload to Youtube. SO simple. As far as making a montage - stick with Dan for advice! dw |

08 Apr 10 - 10:58 PM (#2882559) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: LilyFestre I like www.onetruemedia.com for montages. You can upload a decent monthly limit of photos for free and they have lots of free music to choose from as well. If you can upload a photo, you can use onetruemedia. Michelle |
08 Apr 10 - 10:59 PM (#2882560) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: LilyFestre Also.....easily linked to YouTube. Michelle |

09 Apr 10 - 07:08 AM (#2882717) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: wilbyhillbilly OOH YESS, well you can on Nero which is what I use. You can add sound seperately, put script in, as well as merge photos. One of each I did earlier :-) With Photos With Video The video one is a bit shaky, then I learned to use a tripod *grin* If you get Nero and need help just contact me, have fun, John |
09 Apr 10 - 07:28 AM (#2882726) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: VirginiaTam Windows Moviemaker is very easy. all the tools are easy to find and use. Used it to create this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJMB16H8S1w First recorded the song on laptop sound recorder which is not the best quality but I can use it to excuse the poor quality of my voice. Opened moviemaker added photos from Scotland holiday and added the music file, then edited timing of photos to length of sound file, added captions to pics and uploaded to my youtube account straight from moviemaker. Can you use recordings of music from your church as well as pics. That would make it very nice. |
09 Apr 10 - 09:35 AM (#2882816) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: LilyFestre OneTrueMedia....you have to use the subscriber part if you want to add your own sound files.....pretty cheap at $3.95 a month. Michelle |
09 Apr 10 - 11:39 AM (#2882904) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: Tootler Nice one VT. Bonny at Morn is a favourite of mine. Singing it at the Welly at Wolviston will guarantee great chorus singing. Here's another one done with Windows Movie Maker. I recorded the sound on an Edirol R09 recorder, copied it to my computer and "tweaked" it using Audacity. < href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X0naO2Z_1o">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5X0naO2Z_1o Just to reverse VT's content, the tune is Scots and the pictures are of the North of England. |

11 Apr 10 - 03:24 AM (#2884047) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: wilbyhillbilly Well done Susan, a good first attempt. Easy isn't it! Don't know if you can alter the transitions timing on your programme, but they seem a little fast, although it's fine, but just a personal thing, anyway, now you can really go for it. Have fun John |
11 Apr 10 - 05:46 AM (#2884087) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: wysiwyg Yeh, and I now have another 160+ photos to boost in, and then effects to experiment with. Tx for the feedback, oh man of great eyes and ears. :~) For now it's just playtime, but I hope to get the parish website stocked with a few later today. ~S~ |
11 Apr 10 - 06:36 AM (#2884104) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: ChrisJBrady Small warning - YouTube is limited to 10 minutes. I spent hours creating a slideshow on WMM about jig dolls / limberjacks in the Appalachians - the commentary was 11.46 mins. WMM created the WMV file. YouTube let me upload it, then it processed it, and then it rejected / deleted it. Wasted bandwidth. And be aware that YouTube also tuncates the last 5 seconds (approx.) of audio. It clipped the end of the Olly Oakley track I uploaded, and I had to re-create the file with some extra 'silence' at the end. |

11 Apr 10 - 11:14 PM (#2884550) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: LilyFestre Hey Susan, I didn't see this thread so you've already received my thoughts via PM. I like the parish picnic theme....fun photos you've got there *GRIN*....but really, you did a fine job! The music is perfect...comes across really loud but I can adjust that from here...that's nothing you did. Isn't OneTrueMedia fun? I find it addicting! Added benefit...it's nice to see people that have either grown (Robbie, Renee and Richie especially) or passed on. I think you have the Ladies Guild photos...Marge and Betty are in those. Do you know that June carries a photo of Marge to each meeting? And in my spot at church is a BCP given by Betty in memory of her husband and also the card from her funeral is in there? I look for it each time I am in church and whisper a hello to Betty. I hope it stays right there in that pew...it's fitting as she always sat there with us and is the reason we started attending the Saturday night service in the first place. Anyway, good job on your first montage!!! I think you need a photographer to get some updated photos. Just sayin'................ Michelle |
11 Apr 10 - 11:30 PM (#2884556) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: wysiwyg LF-- Collecting scans of funeral cards. Can scan here. There is a list developing of what we need snapped. See Cn CS AYC. :~) Your work is good, we know that (she took most of what's in the montage). But.... at YOUR pace. And I still have a lot of pix to montage-up, but need some downtime first too. I sprained my eyes playing to learn the tools. Need to let all that larning set a bit and jell up. Gonna focus on music picks first and then build montages from there. ~S~ |

12 Apr 10 - 09:13 PM (#2885226) Subject: RE: Tech: Producing Youtube Material? From: wysiwyg It's not Cn CS, but.... BillD and I took a wild ride over to Cornell Bros. Agway for milk while he and Rita were here once, and that video reminded me of the way we laughed and laughed as we rocketed over the hills. And it also reminded me of another MudBud who didn't understand he needed to slow down on the roads here-- lot of hazards can come around these hilly bends, all of a sudden! :~) ~Susan |

Professionally, of course, it's his call how he wants to be addressed or referred to in public, and whether he sees Mudcat as "public." Heads-up to bear in mind: links to here will be appearing "there".... just something to be aware of. ~S~ |
