OOPS I Think I bunged this in the wrong section, Try here.

Any road now that the sun has come back, me shorts will be back on again this weekend and I'm looking forward to a summer of festivals, so far I'm hoping to go to the following;
Hardraw gathering, both May & July, Holmefirth, Dent, Robin Hood's bay, Cleckheaton, Staiths, Saddleworth, Otley, Whitby and Ingleton.

Anyone suggest any other that I could get to & back easily be public transport over a weekend from Bradford.

Cheers

Muppett

What about Ryedale? Brilliant little fest. I'd suggest Moonbeams but I doubt if there's any public transport so it might mean a taxi from Driffield. Oh, and there's Scarborough Seafest...and Beverley (a few mins walk from the station).

Don't see how the above post helps in finding festivals easily accessible by public transport from Bradford, suggest you look at the froots festival listing mate, it seems to be fairly comprehensive.

From: GUEST,Muppett

Aye Guest, thanks for that, but it downt tell me of the little festivals that aren't always included, e.g. Found that there's a festival at the Craven Arms in Appletreewick (up in the Dales and a bus stops right outside the front door) that's not listed, happening this coming weekend. That aside do you know of owt else that's not listed?

Dozy Rosey, Dent is on June 25 - 27, was up there this weekend and plans are well underway.

Amazing, three posts from one person "trying" to provide infomation:-

1. He and Mrs Ossenflags (presumably) his wife/partner are going to a festival
2. A band "The Owd Chyvers" are going to a hiring fair, presumably he has something to do with this band
3. He is sixty five sometime about the time of a festival.

I hope you find this information useful in your quest for places to go in easy travelling distance from Bradford.

Ey up Ossonflags, I'll be there for your 65th birthday on Sat 8 May at Holmfirth Festival of Folk and we will all celebrate it in true Yorkshire style.

Please note, Ossonflags and Muppett and dozy rozy et al; if The Nook is too crowded and over-bearing we will move to The Elephant and Castle like last year and have a damn good session with the very hospitable hosts and less noise and argy bargy.

I certainly hope that Harry from Hartlepool will be there because it won't be the same without 'im.

Bye the way, my mate Ray is organising a "Story and Songs" session in Sid's/Compo's Cafe in the church yard in the centre of Holmfirth on Ossonflag's Birthday, Sat 8 May, 6-8pm, as part of The Holmfirth Festival of Folk so I hope that you can all come along to this and give Ray your full support and join in and contribute to the session.

Best regards.

Chris

Hey Up Muppett, there's always the first Saturday of the month sessions at the First Inn Last Out, Whitby and great walking locally as you know. Does Sowerby Rush Cart have sessions attached, never actually been but it fits your criteria of being accessible from Bradford me thinks.

Cheers

Nick

Hiya Guest,
Thanks for your worry that Ossonflags is not contributing to my quest to find places within easy reach by public transport from Bradford, But it's coming across as if you have a personal Beef with him. If this is the case please take it somewhere else, in the meantime can you suggest any places that fit the criteria I'm looking for based on personal experiances, rather then pointing me to a website(this is a good gauge as to what the events are like) One again thanks for the concern and I await your positive contributions.

As for Hartlepool harry, when I last saw him in Whitby a few weeks ago, he mentioned he was coming to both Hardraw and Holmefirth.
Cheers

Muppett

Have a good weekend in the Green Dragon at Hardraw Muppett.
Unfortunately I am having an Op on Fri 30 April so can't come to this.

Hopefully I'll be OK (and not too sore!)to attend Holmfirth Festival of Folk 7-9 May, but I might be walking strangely like John Wayne!
In fact me and a bunch of friends have tickets for Show of Hands at The Picturedrome on Fri 7 May so I had better be OK!

So see you in The Nook or Elephant and Castle after the show - late'ish.
Or even The Old Bridge Hotel for the very late singaround session.

Best regards good buddy.

Chris

Hiya,
Yeah I've clocked the Whitby spring sesh already, hoping to come along to some of it,but I've been asked to entertain the locals and anyone else who turns up for the Middlesmoor Updale event, which is happening on the bank holiday,SO I'll see how the funds go.

Coming over to Whitby this weekend though (instead of the Hardraw bash) so may bump into yer.

Cheers

Muppett
