I'm looking for the lyrics to a song called, Red Cortina (a car).

They go something like:

You look so pretty on this winter morning, Christmas stays with you forever. ..........you were just about to blossom.... forever and ever.........

Any help or further hints would be appreciated.

Thanks!!

Gonna try this one more time....................

Still searching for lyrics to one more song on my list. It's definitely called, "Red Cortina" (a car). It goes something like this:

"You look so pretty on this winter morning.....Christmas stays with you forever."

It's kind of slow. Any clues would help!

Also: I have been told that the lyrics to "The Joyce Country Ceili Band", by the Saw Doctors, is on the album, "Songs From Sun Street".....on the CD's sleeve notes. Does anyone have the CD...and would be kind enuf to take the time to supply me with the lyrics??

Thanks!

R.B.

R.B.,

I don't have the lyrics memorized, but could probably sit down with the disk if noone else has them off the cuff. However, I do know the line is 'First love stays with you forever'. . .not Christmas, although it could sound like that!

Hi R.B.,

I'm going to stick to guns on this one, from what I mailed before: I don't think it is a Christmas song. It's about first love, and the line is "(A) First love stays with you forever."

My ear has it thusly:

Factory house outside of town
Pretty name I can't remember
Christmas party '77
First love stays with you forever

CHORUS: And ever and ever
First love stays with you forever
(And ever and ever)
First love stays with you forever

(Outside at school?) I'd try to meet you
Your father used to drop you off
You'd step out of a red Cortina
You looked so pretty on those winter mornings
Forever. . .

Chorus

Close your eyes for just one moment
Disco at the start of summer
Sun still shining through the window
And you were just about to blossom

Chorus:
Forever and ever
First love stays with you forever
Forever and ever
First love stays with you forever
And ever and ever
Sun still shining through the window
And you were just about to blossom

Repeat chorus and fade

I don't know this one but it reminds me of a parady of the lords prayer about Ford cars. It goes:-

The ford is my motor, I shall not want another one. It maketh me to lie down in wet places, In oil it annointeth me. Etc. Etc.
