Hi folks,

As part of our preparations for Hartlepool Tall Ships 7-10 August, we're holding a free Headland Folk Day on Saturday 15th May to coincide with the Pot House Folk Club (now at the Cosmopolitan Hotel) on Friday 14th.

Our special guest for the weekend is Graeme Knights.

Saturday 15th May
Victoria Arms

12pm Song for the Sea – Tall Ships song writing competition
Enter an original song about or inspired by the sea and/or Hartlepool and win a spot on the Sea Stage on Monday 9th August at the Tall Ships and a £50 prize.
(To enter or for more details email me at seancooneyfolk@tiscali.co.uk)

2pm – Singaround with Graeme Knights & the Young'Uns

Victoria Arms, 154 Northgate, Headland, Hartlepool, TS24 0EQ
St Hilda's Church

6pm – 7.30pm free Community Concert – Songs & Stories from Hartlepool and Beyond

in the beautiful 800 year old church of St Hilda
with Graeme Knights, the Young'Uns and the children of St Bega's Primary School and Ahurei (Billingham Kid's Club)

St Hilda's Church, Headland, Hartlepool, TS24 OPW

For accommodation, the Cosmopolitan Hotel do very reasonably priced B&B (01429 274347) and I'm trying to sort out some secure van space at the Victoria Arms though people regularly park vans along the sea front or in the large car park down from St Hilda's for the folk club and have not had any problems.

I know this clashes with a few things that weekend but it was the only time we could really go for

Cheers

Sean

Great weekend - sorry we didn''t make the concert or final sing but needed to get off to get something to eat. Nice to meet new and old friends.

Thanks for the organisation and look forward to seeing you at the Tall Ships!
