Does anyone have lyrics for this? Isn't it pretty? I think it is the same as that French song about the father and son going to sea. mg

You're right, it's certainly the same tune as "Partons la Mer Est Belle," but I don't recognize these words.

I have just emailed a friend in Holland to see if he knows this song. If he comes up with anything I'll post it.

Thanks for posting, mg. It's a fine tune and a good-looking bunch of guys.

(Sorry I can't help with the lyrics.)

That's a cute little fan they have, watching fascinated, and as close as she can get - the fan with the ponytail.

Here's the choir's web site: Shantykoor "De Ollerommer Vlintboksems". They are based in Ulrum.

Shantykoor=Shanty Choir.

"Ollerommer Vlintboksems" seems to be a phrase in the local dialect: "Our name is derived from a term of abuse for the people of Ulrum."

"We sing in Dutch, English and German but also in our beloved dialect: the Groningen."

I couldn't identify the song in the video.
