From: Suegorgeous Traditional Singers' Circle Starting Thursday 13 May, upstairs at The Miners Arms, Mina Rd St. Werburghs, Bristol BS2 9Y, 8.00pm. This will be: - a space to sing - try out new songs and experiment - gain experience, improve performance - meet and learn from other singers - maybe workshop sessions, performances etc All unaccompanied traditional/folk singers welcome (no instruments please), whatever your level of experience. Come to the first meeting and put your ideas in at the start! We'll probably start with a round of introductions, followed by a bit of singing for those who want to, and afterwards have some discussion about how the group will function and what it will do. And do you have a policy about Bank Holidays? eg Xmas day so miss 1 night or shift night one week and proceed from there? It matters because I am working on predicting days from the formulae and alt weeks need a datum. One that is accurate. incomplete info and a way to verify is better than WRONG info on websites IMNSHO. |

For the moment, we've said it'll be 2nd and 4th Thursdays. We'll have to see how that works out. No idea about bank holidays at this very early stage! we'll probably just stop altogether for 2 or 3 weeks at Xmas, but won't decide that til Nov/Dec or so. Cheers |

I'm an a capella singer with dyslexic fingers - you should see how poorly & slowly I type to understand - I find that the instrumentalists take over wherever they meet & it's hard to squeeze in a song at all... and then there is always someone who insists on trying to play along - rarely even in the same key or timing... lol |
