Lanterns gleam, their bright flames leap and play.... It was a beautiful song and fun to sing. I can find anything close to it. Can anybody help with all the lyrics and maybe guitar chords? |

I have never been able to forget this song, which I heard being sung a few times by a class other than mine while I was in Primary School. This would have been either in the late 50s or the early 60s, here in Belize, at that time a British colony known as British Honduras. It would be good to know in what part of the world you heard this lovely song 45 years ago. Best wishes. |

The words of each verse are similar but not identical; but the two tunes differ very considerably. Sung as a round, the musical effect is remarkably melodious.
