See wathfestival.viviti.com for details. (not mastered blue clicky, clue in my Mudcat name as to the reason) Many other excellent artists over the period from 28th April to 3rd May 2010, including Barry Coope, John McCusker, Tom Bliss, Cieran Boyle and Ray Hearne. I have never seen John Tams live only in "Sharpe" and he died in that. This chance I cannot miss. |

I can also highly recommend Ray Hearne and Ciaran Boyle - they make a superb duo and Ray's new stuff from The Wrong Sunshine CD is really good. I didn't realise Mr Bliss is back from purdah - a welcome return! |

I believe Tom Bliss is a late addition to the programme and will be appearing on Sunday Night. I am not sure if this is his first appearance since his announcement that he was giving up performing. If this is so Tom will make his "comeback" at Wath and I hope that he will again join the Folk Circuit and we will not be deprived of his excellent contribution to folk music. Does anyone know about his plans? |

Tom has posted his current thoughts on performance on his blog on MySpace - he is working with two other excellent musicians Phil Cockerham and Dave Bowie - not seen them together yet but can't wait! His return (even if temporary or sporadic) is the best news I've had for some time! |

John Tams was certainly exceptional, togeather with all on the stage on Saturday night at Wath. I will certainly go out of my way to see him again. He was also in good voice on todays "Sharpe". I will never be ceased to be amazed at the musical ability of John McCusker and Cieron Boyle and togeather with Barry Coope, Ray Hearne, Heidi Talbot trio, with John, Boo Hewardine and the double base player whoes name escapes me (sorry) a very entertaining evening was had by all. I hoped to see Tom Bliss and friends this evening, but unfortunatly, for me, it is a sell out, I wish all well. |

02 May 10 - 03:49 PM (#2898698) Subject: RE: John Tams at Wath Festival From: r.padgett I spoke to the entertaining Phil Cockerham the other night and he told me of his musical work with Tom Bliss and Dave Bowie Somehow I had been unaware of Tom Bliss's serious illness, although I knew about his supposed change of career adn the very many difficulties met by full time folk musicians, in particular the travelling aspect Hope all goes well now and in the future for the guests and the festival I have fond memories of the old Wath festivals of yesteryear (could go on for ever reminiscing) but times change Ray |
