18 May 10 - 07:58 PM (#2909552) Subject: BS: Groupies... From: Bobert Well, I didn't know if this should go under Music or BS but... ...this past weekend I played a rather large private party and afterwards was sellin' a few CD's from the stage while gatherin' up my gear when a lady came up to me, asked me to sign her CD, and then preceeded to come on to me in a big way... Even told me it had been 7 months since she had last had sex... I tried to make a joke of it by doin' my best Fred Sanford's "I'm comin' to see you, Elizabeth" while holding my heart and staggering around the stage... I mean, this woman was very attractive and at least 15 years younger than me and I must say that while it was somewhat flattering it was also very uncomfortable... Fortunately there were other people tryin' to buy CDs and talk with me about my music so I kinda used them to change the subject but... ...now I am kinda embarassed for this woman... This ain't really a question... Just ain't happened in so long that I'd forgotten all about that aspect of being a musican... I mean, it was fun a long time ago but in the words of Jethro Tull, "It was a new day yesterday, it's an old day now"... B~ |

18 May 10 - 08:31 PM (#2909573) Subject: RE: BS: Groupies... From: Clontarf83 Had 95 year old woman come up to me after a concert in a nursing home. She said, "young man, do you want to live as long as me?" I said "yes", she said "then don't eat pork" that's as good as I have done in the groupies world... |
|
18 May 10 - 08:39 PM (#2909581) Subject: RE: BS: Groupies... From: Rapparee Bobert, I've had groupies and gropies but now I'm married and I suggest you remember that, like I do. All the time, that is. This lady had probably had a few to drink and the next day was embarrassed by her actions. |
|
18 May 10 - 08:53 PM (#2909589) Subject: RE: BS: Groupies... From: SINSULL I don't know. The Kendall Groupies are never embarrassed by their actions. |

18 May 10 - 09:23 PM (#2909608) Subject: RE: BS: Groupies... From: Bobert Well, okay... Maybe it was too much to drink... Nah... She had kinda corraled me before my show and was drinkin' a diet Coke but asked me if I wanted a "special brownie"... Hmmmmmmmm??? Said she was a yoga teacher??? I donno??? I do know that I ain't like Kendall... I'm happy exclusively with what I have at home and don't need no harrumzimmer to house all my womenz.... B~ |

18 May 10 - 10:11 PM (#2909631) Subject: RE: BS: Groupies... From: Beer Good for you Bobert. I don't know what you look like nor how old you are but I can guess on the second. I think maybe this lady made you feel good and young. And that is great. You had the brains to back away and that maybe good or maybe bad. I don't have a clue as I don't know your life's situation. But to have a young lady come up to you and make an offer like that!! Right on. Keep playing and impressing them all. You'll always feel young. Beer (adrien) |

18 May 10 - 10:29 PM (#2909643) Subject: RE: BS: Groupies... From: Bill D The question is...had you ever seen her before, and are you likely to ever see her again? If she was a total stranger, it is just an 'interesting' story. If she is local & known to you, you need to lay down the rules clearly... |

18 May 10 - 10:43 PM (#2909646) Subject: RE: BS: Groupies... From: Janie Jeez, Geez...you shoulda told her you already had yer set of bigbottomed mudwomenz groupies - come to think of it, Sins, there is a huge overlap among them what hovers around Kendall, hoping for to stroke that leather jacket, and them what hovers around the Bobertz, hoping for a peacock feather to wave.... |

18 May 10 - 10:49 PM (#2909650) Subject: RE: BS: Groupies... From: Bobert Nah, Bill... I played about 80 miles north of where I live... I was told by the folks who organized the party that they want me back next year... Other than that, no, I didn't know this lady from Adam... Ahhhhh, Eve... The funny thing is that my younger brother, who lives up there, came to the party (my invite) and he is single and was off somewhere when this went down 'er I woulda told this woman to go talk with my brother... Heck, he'd been more than happy to... ...but nevermind that... No, this gal ain't local... b~ |

Come to think of it he has those blue eyes and dimples too. And the hat. That "bad boy Mom wouldn't let me date" look. No wonder the poor girl lost her sense of propriety. 19 May 10 - 11:40 AM (#2909962) Subject: RE: BS: Groupies... From: C-flat Reminds me of a time, not so long back, just after a gig, when me and the other guitarist in my band were approached by a quite stunning young woman, at least half our age. We could only drool and stare as she told us, in the most flattering terms, how much she'd enjoyed the night and would be sure to look out for us again etc etc. She was pretty and flirty, and we managed to mumble a couple of "thanks" in reply but were a little out of practice in the art of "chatting up" so we stuck to ogling. After she'd left, it dawned on me that the only reason this beautiful girl had felt she could come and chat in such a friendly and beguiling way was, that at our ages, we were now considered... SAFE!!!!! If only she knew........... |

" So why do women take up the guitar? lol I have to say that some men's voice just hit the spot but it's not just about voice. The idea of a kind, sensitive man, pouring his heart out or showing a good clean sense of fun, intelligently expressing feelings and sensitively showing emotions.... Not that I could ever be a groupie you understand... !!! (and in total fairness some women's voices and songs have the exact same effect) mp |

20 May 10 - 11:27 AM (#2910595) Subject: RE: BS: Groupies... From: SINSULL NO. Rita tolerates Bill's groupies but no whores. Shame on you, olddude. And if you name yourself "olddude" how do expect to attract an entourage of groupies? My advice - put as many pictures of yourself with that baby out there. Babies, like puppies and labs, attract women. Meantime, as a kindness, I will see if I can round up some worshippers for you. Silly man, even I know who they are. But be careful what you wish for. Maybe you should talk to Kendall before I start recruiting. SINS PS Do you have a leather jacket? If not, get one quick. You will need it. Groupies setle for a passing caress of soft leather. Without it, you risk losing your undies. M |

Okay, go slug down a couple Scotches first so that when you are later reminded that "gentlemen don't tell" you can say, "Hey, I was drunk at the time..." Ya' know, I think maybe these Repubs oughtta start using the drunk defense... I'm so sick of hearin' the same old, "I accept personal responsibility"... It's stale... Can't pone just get up and say, "Hey, ya'll... I was drunk at the time that I had sex with that women"... I mean, Bill Clinton could have even used it rather than arguing over the meaning of the world "is"... I mean, let's get real here... Men are about some dumbasses... (Kendall not included... yet)... They get caught weaving down the road and get pulled over and end up with a DUI and there they are, havin' spent 3 grand on a defense attorney, lookin' dwon at their shoes as if their shoes made 'um weave down the road??? Like, what is that all about... If I get pulled over fir weavin' I ain't gonna waste my 3 grand on no lawyer... No sir... I'm gonna stand tall and look the judge in the face and ask him if he could rive any better if he ahd stopped off at the Sweet Springs Store and knocked down a 12 pack with the boys out back... "Well, yer honor person... You think you could do any better with 12 Nattie Lights in you???"... Yeah, that would be my defense... Hell, yer gonna get the same punishment either way... Right??? B~ |

21 May 10 - 07:09 AM (#2911150) Subject: RE: BS: Groupies... From: GUEST,Kendall Ok, Bobert, one story. Many years ago I did a performance at a festival and this young woman came to me and invited me to go to Greece with her. She was a knockout, and had I been single at the time I might well have gone. She said her family owned an island there and promised a good time. Being married, I just couldn't do it, so I told myself the island she owned was probably LESBOS. |
