Masterclass will be conducted by founding member of Skylark, Gerry O'Connor. Its at 11.30 a.m. on Saturday 12 June at the Liberty Hall Centre for Performing Arts, is priced at a recession friendly €10, and best suited to adult students of at least two years' experience. Gerry recorded four albums with Skylark and toured Europe with the band for 10 years. He's produced a number of solo, live and collaborative albums. There is a very comprehensive programme including workshops, concerts, poetry, dancing and drama. Begins on Thursday at the famed Flowing Tide, Abbey St, Dublin 1 8.30-11.30pm: Writers In Song Acclaimed singer Barry Gleeson salutes the capital's literary culture with his unique interpretation of Dublin songs, featuring the work of Joyce, O'Casey, Kavanagh and some forgotten bards of yesterday. Friday, May 6th Venue: Teachers' Club, 36 Parnell Square West, Dublin 1 7pm: Opening address by Galway poet Michael D Higgins. 7.30-9.30pm: City of Words Dubliner Gerard Smyth weaves a poetic tapestry, drawing on the people, places and personal experience of his native city. Interwoven with music by Gerry O'Connor, Martin Quinn and Gabriel McArdle from their new album, Jig Away the Donkey. 10-closing: An Góilín Singers Club Internationally acclaimed singer Niamh Parsons is the special guest at the renowned Góilín Singers Club.
