Hi, Mary.
How right you are!
Brian is a great turn - a performer true to traditional roots, and we'd dearly love to see him up north soon.

Thanks for posting this Geoff. As you know Brian did a great night for us last time he was at the Welly a couple of years ago, so it will be good to see him back. Brian's a good friend of the family and actually started out on the folk scene many moons ago, at one of our earlier homes the infamous Collingwood folk club in the 70's, and he's gone from strength to strength since.

Cheers,

Ken.

Dead right, Ken. Had it not been for the 'Colly', I most probably wouldn't have frittered away the rest of my life on music, so you boys have a lot to answer for. But, having gone around since the early 1980s telling everyone that the Collingwood was the best folk club in the world and could never be equalled, it was great to find on my last visit that the Welly was everything the Colly had been in its heyday: a roomful of people, every one of them a superb singer. Can't wait for Thursday!

' . . .a roomful of people, and every one of them a superb singer'. You must bring out the best in us, Brian! Really looking forward to Thursday night. We'll be there early (before all the comfy seats get taken!)

One of the things about the Welly is that we get more people on guest nights than on singaround nights which makes for a great atmosphere and great choruses.

Brian did sing Lord Randall - and a good job he made of it too! You were mentioned in dispatches, Dick :-)

An excellent evening all round.
