For those of us who prefer words instead of links-only threads:
    Rue McClanahan, the Emmy-winning actress who brought the sexually liberated Southern belle Blanche Devereaux to life on the hit TV series "The Golden Girls," has died. She was 76.

    Her manager Barbara Lawrence said McClanahan died Thursday (3 June 2010) at 1 a.m. of a stroke.

So did I. I thought the Golden Girls was well written and the parts well played. My guess is that a lot of girls-turned-women have fantasized about having lots of money, good- if odd -friends and a sunny lifestyle.
