Yes it will be a first for us too. So we are reeet looking forward to it! And it will be wee Kathy's birthday on the Saturday so we will be breaking out the Jack Daniels.

Is there a secret hand shake or other signal that helps 'Catters spot each other in these situations? Just what is the etiquette?

Been to all of them and delighted to watch it expand. Cleanest portable toilets anywhere. And a great stall selling previously owned books on folkmusic, folklore and folklife. (Blatant self-advertisement - but do come and advertise yourself as a 'catter anyway!)

Just back from a cracking festival. Great acts, good weather, well organised without being officious. Well done to the organisers, and we'll see you next year!

Excellent weekend but despite walking around wearing my Mudcat T-shirt I only saw two other Mudcatters. Still, there were a lot of people there!
Managed to get off the campsite without being towed which is always a bonus.

It was pretty damn good, keeps getting better each year. Hats off to the organisers, volunteers, performers and punters.

Yes we really enjoyed it too. Well organised yet it felt laid back - sparkling loos and even had HOT water in showers on the campsite!

Saw some great acts and also introduced our friend who are festival virgins to this enthralling sub-culture. I think they liked it.

Wonderful weekend. Being fairly new to the folk scene, I was able to see for the first time a lot of the "greats" that I have only heard of, like Jez Lowe and Vin Garbutt, as well as wonderful new acts like QP and John Smith. And I wasn't the only autoharp - one of the Morris sides included one! Good food too!

Couldn't find a single criticism to put on the feedback sheet! An excellent festival. Specially enjoyed 4 men and a dog & the Tom McConville band.

I've only ever heard it pronounced Suth-ell, as heard on the horse racing commentaries.

South-well by those who were born and brought up there.

Thanks Sooz; you learn something every day! The same thing applies to Slaithwaite near Huddersfield, by the way; Locals tend to use 'Slay-thwaite', whereas those not from the town say 'Slough-it'.

I'd heard it was Southwell if you are talking about the town, but Suthell if it is the Minster
