The Spare Parts Concertina Band is running an English tunes practice session at the Crawley Folk Festival, Sussex, UK on Saturday 26th. June from 11.00 a.m. - noon in the Chaucer Room of The Hawth Arts Centre, Crawley.

We've also been asked to lead a session on the beer tent stage from 3.30 - 4.15 p.m. This should be good fun and we hope people will join us. We thought we'd concentrate on four standard tunes in the practice and do them on the stage. They are The Sloe, Litchfield Tattoo, The Man in the Moon and the Sherbourne Waltz. You can download them as Noteworthy Composer, .pdf and midi files from the tunes page of the band website thanks to Bryan TheSnail Creer.

In case people would like notice of other standards we might tackle on the stage, Bryan suggests these:

Redesdale Hornpipe (56) / Gipsy's Hornpipe (63)
Rogue's March (35) / Captain Lanoe's Quick March (10)
Jamie Allen (51) / Salmon Tails up the Water (13)
Michael Turner's Jig (44) / Welch Family Jig (48)
Heel & Toe Polka (12345) (15)

Numbers in brackets are page numbers in Lewes Favourites except the one that obviously isn't. They can be downloaded from the Lewes Favourites download page
of the Lewes Saturday Folk Club website.

Anyone who'd like to do a party piece will be welcome - we hope to do a few ourselves, too.

Tootle pip,

Valmai

Workshops at the Festival are free, by the way.
