It is possible to make it pay, though not consistently. Still, being out and about also gets you gigs ;-) I love it. Shame there is so much beaurocracy surrounding it in many parts of the country. It makes being a travelling busker very difficult. We were kicked out of Kirklees recently, not before we busked outside the Last of the Summer Wine cafe though, and on the very day the BBC announced we had seen the last of the last of the summer wine! Reclaiming the streets from the corporate dominance of our public space is no bad thing either. I'd like to see much more street culture. Hull is quite a good place to busk. So is Beverley.
