18 Jun 10 - 01:51 PM (#2930654) Subject: RE: suggestions for replacing5stringguitar From: Bernard Depends upon what you were trying to tune it to, Dick... an octave A string on a 12 string would be tuned to the second fret A of a G banjo 3rd string, but I'm guessing you want the banjo 5th string G which is an octave above that. A 12-string octave G (3rd string) is normally tuned to that pitch at full scale length (the banjo's is much shorter), so I'd give that a go. |
