Fair Warning Brits- Kesey's on the Loose

Those who frequent the Mudcat Tavern may have noticed that the large space outside that had previously been occupied by Ken Kesey's Day-glo moving mural of a bus (FURTHER), is now available for parking, dancing in the street, etc. That's because Kesey and the Merry Pranksters are in the British Isles searching for Merlin! Yes, it's the wheresmerlin Tour. Before he left, he asked me to make sure all the British Mudcatters knew about it. More info is available on Kesey's web page at http://www.Key-2.com/PRANKS.html.

Basic itinerary- Aug 17 Victoria Rooms at Bristol University Aug 18 2:00 Swansea Town Square- Evening Brangwyn Hall Aug 19 Bus trip to Stratford-upon-Avon Aug 20 Liverpool 4:00 Magical Mystery Tour starting at The Cavern Aug 21 Liverpool/Royal Court Theatre Aug 22 Dublin/Vicar Street Theatre Aug 23 Belfast/Belfast Market Hall Aug 24 Ferry Dublin to Stanraer Aug 25 bus trip to Edinburgh Aug 26 Edinburgh/hike to Arthur's Seat Aug 28 Edinburgh/ Kool Aid Music Festival-Princes Street Gardens Aug 29 bus to Liverpool Aug 30 Liverpool/ Beatles Convention.

A lot of the tour will be followed on BBC channel 4. If any of you folks attend, watch out for the Kool Aid and tell Ken that Neal and Neil (Cassady and Lowe) said "HI".

Oh, and Ken said all Mudcatters are invited to The Millenium Party, December 31st, in Pleasant Hill, Oregon.

It appears legit . I'm sure I've seen reference to the tour in Radio Times. Can't recall whether it was on Chanel 4 or BBC 2, though (sorry, Lone_EJ, you have a confusion of TV stations there) - it's whichever station was running the "Summer of Love" series.

It's being reported in the Guradian (Oh heck, leave the typo, seeing it's them), and Kernow was on the list, eclipse week.

I just found Kesey on the site for the Edinburgh Festival at www.festivalrevue.com if anyone wants to see it. It also says a little about the Celtic Connections in Glasgow. Quite a buzz to see a catter like that.
