Still stomping at age 71, he returns to the UK for his first tour in 29 years. He was recently subject of a cover feature on the July 2010 issue of fRoots magazine. He will be accompanied on this tour by his long-term friend, fiddler Chip Smith. And what an experience, so see the great man again. Anybody remember "Blues, rags and Hollers"? What an impact that made. Stunning stuff. The Leopard in Burslem, for those who like the history of England's industrial revolution, was the pub where Brindley and Wedgwood met and drew up the idea of the Trent and Mersey canal on the back of an envelope. And there is also a ghost upstairs. And a very good selection of real ales. What's not to like? |

I think Mike Harding was due to give him a plug last night on Radio 2, anybody listen? There is another broadcast tomorrow : Fri 3rd Sept @ 11.15pm Spider John Koerner session broadcast on World On 3 with Mary Ann Kennedy, BBC Radio 3 And of course a series of live dates (see earlier in the thread).
