Beech moves back to the Beech

21 Jul 10 - 09:20 AM (#2948978)
Subject: Beech moves back to the Beech

I have had a chat with The Beech and we are all welcome as and when we like. Probably first and third Wednesdays for songs and last Tuesday for tunes.

I have had a chat with The Horse and they are very understanding, happy to part on good terms and welcome back as and when also.

But, tonight, for one night only, The Beech Band will play at Chorlton Irish Club for dancing them English Country dances that none of us know but all love deeply. I think we will have some singing also.

See as many as will 8pm downstairs

Well, last Tuesday of the month and so The Beech Band will gather in the Beech and play some country dance tunes. English, Irish, Scotts, even French. We will have the music on the tables for those who follow the mystery of the dots.

Squeeze boxes, banjos, whistles, fiddles, guitars, assorted percussion and Big Ron the... Guitaron - no instrument has ever been tuned away.

Another night of those great little tunes.

Thanks to Mike B, Chris, Gordon, Mark, Ken, Ursula, Steve and his 2 friends, Sylvia, Helen, Dave, Julie, Janet, Marie-Claire, Mike C, Phil R, Ged, Rob, Brian, Phil E and Dave who popped in on the way to his own Cajun Session at The Bowling Green.

Thanks to our new Landspeople Julia & Chris - I feel sure they are turning The Beech back into a great little pub. Thanks to all those who brought 'house warming plants' - another chance to drop a plant off next Wednesday at the Singaround.

I feel sure that Chris and Julia will return the pub to is former glories as a great little pub with atmosphere and great beer.

We will be singing songs mostly but not exclusively traditional on the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of the month and our Beginners Tunes Session will be on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month.

Cheers

"Two Tailors and a Black Sheep" should make a very good song! Sounds like good fun was had by all.

Sorry I didn't make it last night, but I've pulled a run of late shifts for Wednesdays, and I never even managed to get to the Beech when the Beech wasn't at the Beech (if that makes sense???)

I'll try to come again in September.

Cheers, Matthew
