Will it snow that weekend? I sincerely hope not!! My long-awaited postponed date with the Lewes Saturday Folk Club is nigh, well, nearly nigh!

I'm hoping that there'll be lots of friends joining me for the evening. I'll just be doing a couple of short (25 minute) sets, so I'll pick out my very best story songs and dust off some great chorus songs too. Please let me know if there's anything particular you'd like me to include!

We're hoping that Max (owner and founder of the Mudcat) will be persuaded to play for us too, possibly ably assisted by Terry 'Leadfingers' Silver!!!

I am so looking forward to this, keeping fingers crossed for good weather...

We're looking forward to it too, MGAS. Sorry it took so long to rearrange. Max will definitely be called on to play if he comes.

We've had events disrupted by snow, flood and fire. What does that leave? Earthquake?

Have a great night! I'd be there if I could - if only to compare beard lengths again with Leadfingers (!) - but, alas, I have the usual Saturday band wedding reception gig that night. Best wishes to all for the night - yourself, Max, Terry and all the gang. :-)

I had a great time when I sang there, and I know you will too! Just sorry that you won't be at the Wail!

Bryan, it's probably a tie between an earthquake and a hurricane. But we have a guardian angel now.

Don't be put off - she's a doddle, really (the angel, not Valmai). I give her bum a little tweak whenever I pass her on the stairs - just for fun - and she loves posing for the camera...

The photo was taken by Will Fly and I put in a link to it as often as possible; thanks again, Will. The one in with the Fair Isle jumper is Alan Day.

The angel is obviously happy. You never see her without a grin.

MGAS, I'm greatly looking forward to welcoming you and Max to Lewes. Remind me to send you a resident's parking voucher if you're coming early to admire our Norman castle, Georgian brewery, Jacobean manor house, Napoleonic prison and Tudor house belonging to Anne of Cleves.

Sorry, can't make it Hils. It's simply too far and I'm STILL wheelchairbound.

I know you will have a great night, though. Sock it to 'em.

Many thanks for all the kind words, I'll be missing friends who are elsewhere but hope you'll be enjoying yourselves & that's what counts! Positive thoughts to you Rhiannon!

Sue, it will be lovely to see felines amongst the crowd *grin*

I just know Lewes is going to enjoy Max's playing and I understand that Leadfingers will be supporting him aswell. But don't let that little detail put you off *grin* (didn't mean it Terry)

There are so many good songs on my list, I'm having trouble cutting it down to a reasonable amount of time. Wouldn't want anyone to get too bored....

The bad news is that my ceilidh band wedding gig has been cancelled (no wedding now), so you'll have to put up me with canoodling with the Angel on the stairs on Saturday evening.

We're gearing ourselves up for a huge and wonderful day tomorrow to Lewes via the Wail at Verwood in Dorset for Max to meet more MudCatters. AA routeplanner says a total of 3 hours & 42 minutes but I had a squint at the route & it was pretty weird. So, we'll arrive tired, but on a high, as this will be Max's last day in the UK.

I've chosen some unusual story songs interspersed with excellent chorus songs and the oddity thrown in if there's time. There are a few sound clips on my web-page, here!

It's not going to snow is it???

The weather here is beautiful today and the forecast is for a maximum of 19 deg C tomorrow with sunny intervals. I am still swimming in the Pells open-air pool. Good news that Will Fly will be with us as well!

Yes, it looks like it will be a lovely day! The lads are all sound asleep & I'll be sorting travel rations etc before attempting to get them all up and about. Before that I'll take my coffee into the garden and have a last-minute practice so I'm as ready as I can be for tonight.

Terry & Max played in the garden after dinner last night and I think they're planning on an hour-long set *grin* Don't panic Valmai! It'll be a rare treat to hear them play tonight!

Thanks for all the kind words {{{Maeve}}} Safe journeys to the Leopards & Will Fly and anyone else travelling today!

Great evening! Hils was in magnificent form - Richard sang beautifully - Max played and sang some great blues - Leadfingers flew over the mandolin fretboard with style - Tone Deaf Leopard had us in stitches - and the regulars and locals were excellent. A superb evening!

Thanks to everyone for a splendid evening. Hils was in cracking form, which will come as no surprise to anyone, and it was a treat to meet and hear Max. He's a very stylish singer and guitarist.

Bryan TheSnail Creer ran a packed evening very well; there were so many performers that even restricting them to one song or tune each they couldn't all be fitted in. For me, the join-in tunes at the start with Steve Nevill, Bryan, Will Fly and Leadfingers were a delight as well.

I look forward to the photographic evidence.

Huge thanks to Lewes Saturday Folk Club for asking me to come along to sing a few songs, I thoroughly enjoyed the evening. A lovely club, well supported and full of friendly faces, an absolute delight!

A packed evening indeed (apologies to those who didn't get a chance to sing), but I'm so glad that Max had a chance to play and sing too. What a delightful young man he is and what a lovely evening to end his trip here in the UK.

Here's the Register of the Catters who were able to come along, many thanks to all who travelled to Lewes for the evening and for all your kind words!

Thanks again, it was a wonderful experience amongst friends! And there was no snow!!

Hmmm, it's clouding over. You may have had a narrow escape, Hils.

It was a delight to have such an embarrassment of riches and to meet such legendary figures. Tone Deaf Leopard were a revelation. I made a bit of a thing about announcing the exotic places people had come from... West Sussex, Kent, Surrey, Middlesex, Spain, America.

Max was photographed with the Angel so now he hies OURS FOREVER!

Just a quick posting as we have to go to Fab Club soon. Thoroughly enjoyed last night. That angel is scary... Max is very brave to have
been photographed with it!
