I got hauled over the coals for publicly discussing Knockholt Summer Solstice, so you chaps and chapesses ought to chase the usual suspects identified above, or there may be something on the Folkmob website.

I supposed the banana nut bread is required.

I will service the chainsaw and I suppose I am going to have to make harissa paste and tagine again. I may also be able to get a volunteer to make a sort of accompaniment thing involving cous-cous and very lightly blanched peppers, and a side salad with a non-mediterranean dressing, a peppery vinaigrette.

I am planning to arrive Thursday and also bring the awning and maybe gazebo. That should make sure it rains. If anyone has a blown air paraffin heater we can run the blowers off generators - but just having it available should reduce the risk of chill! I have a large paraffin burning greenhouse heater but I am nervous of it in a crowded marquee with drunken folkies.

I can vouch for Terry. Some of you may have met him at the late Dave Bryant's barbecues. He has a very nice Docherty mandolin. Terry PM me to obtain location details.

Talking of Gastove, been trying to contact him as there is a folkie weekend in and around The Victory pub in Walton on the Naze over the weekend of September 3rd 4th and 5th. Just a few of the original Festival people getting together. Skinners Rats are playing I think on the Friday evening and we were hoping Gastove might come down. Any of the old festival friends are very welcome! Who knows from little acorns and all that?

I have just contacted the AA and they will not issue any stars for the Chefs. So please try and remember the Wine ,Women and Song bit. The meals are great however they do seem to segregate the intentional activities of the camp.

There I've said my bit, so no Chefs paddies and no throwing of wooden spoons ....please.

I have spoken to Mick Forde and he has given his consent to put up the Marquee any time we want to earlier the better and he does not have to be on the field when we do it.

The plan is if I and who so every else want to make a start on the Marquee we can in regards to fixing the roof stucture.Ie the Apexs and poles that make up the roof. and fix the roof canvas. We can then wait for more abled bodied folk to afix sides and lifting etc.

We planned to do this last year but were told that we couild not untill Mick arrived.
When Mick arrived he was somewhat bewildered.
Regards Pierre.

I would rather put a Marque up sober then to be asked to help when I have just got back from the Tally Ho and Iam completely Rat arsed.

An indian summer in September that sounds good.

I have had a fantastic crop this year of Tarragon Lemon Balm, Tomatoes the size of Cannon balls. Beet-root s ball variety and (cucumbers Yellow exotic cucumbers. corsets purple variety & Chocolate Peppers. These are all unique varieties grown from seed s from the rare seed company who specialize in the conservation of both very old and rare seeds.

I have also grown a rare red sweet potatoes grown in bags made of woven black cloth resulting in a excellent yield.

The seeds are damn expensive at nearly £!0,00 a packet but the yield is fantastic and of course one can leave some to go to seed for another bumper crop of all the above next year.

I have had some lovely little yellow tomatoes (Sungold): totally delicious but they are tending to split their skins (so have to be eaten immediately). My larger tomatoes of several varieties have been suffering from blossom-end-rot. My various chilis have been slow to ripen too. The chard was a disaster.

I might try purple carrots next year.

RB: You have regularly water tomatoes, to prevent splitting, It may seem you over water them ,but they drink all you supply in reason.

Tam, communal meal will be on Thursday night. No theme, just bring any dish you like to share. I have printed a do's and dont's sheet on behalf of the committee which I will endeavour to get onto the folkmob website this week.
I have lots of cherry tomatoes, many courgettes and lots of very nice apples. Chillies are growing well but are not yet red.
The blacberries are good this year so there should be some to collect around the Knockholt fields. Can someone bring the cream.

Hi folks its getting near that time again, when all the sheep start getting excited, we have new rules this year from the farmer, 1. no hog tying the sheep, 2. No using them for testing the camp cooking, 3.No taking them into tents for extra warmth during the cold night.4. no getting them scarred by sprinkling mint on them.

I hope that covers most sheep conundrums and possibilities.

Looking forward to seeing you all for an enjoyable knockholt camp.

Damp, chilly and no where near as many attendees but brilliant all the same. Some great music and singing. Lovely communal meal on Sat night. 12 out of 10 for the water hose!

See some of you at Good Intent or Tenterden.

Remember to check out Brandywine Music on Facebook or the website for some great up coming gigs.

Wevva was lovely on Sunday (unlike George's fuel pump)

Glad you all had a good time. We enjoyed Gastove's do, though the acts were a bit thin on the ground this year. So glad the weather was nice today, and the Wat Tyler Festival was well attended. We weren't even allowed back into the bar/Fab Stage area without an arm band, so I can't see the fringe events being at all free. The barn where we had the sing around was massive, and only feet away from the main stage. We went in to look round while the sound checks were going on, and it was unbelievably noisy, mainly because Faustus have a full drum kit on stage. There were solo acts on whilst we were singing, which wasn't too bad. We ran on until the Bad Shepherds set, then sat in the sun listening to them. I put out 25 Crayside Folk Day fliers, and all but a handful were picked up.

Hi Folks
First and foremost
A Excellent Knockers I throughly enjoyed it, very quiet in contras to over Septembers but the weather actually was very good?

Equally some stunning music and singing? A very well done to all players and singers .
A very Well done to all cooks and folk that cooked wonderful food?

To Pat and Deb who got me to the field and to Ken & Roberta who got me back in that huge Tiger Tank thanks very much.
I also hasten to add that Roberta and Ken both provided Joy with blankets and sleeping bag fore she had guitar But ''had no Donkeys breakfast or tent? Well done?
The fire issue was a bit of a Palaver and maybe some tact should be used by the has and when I want to be a Fire officer?
Having said that Fisheye Fueled the fire well. Well done;. but heed.

Having read the above post some may think I speak outa turn,
But I see it has I see it?

The best regards to all Pierre,

got back to Notts after a wonderful Sept Knockholt camp, Playing Russian roulette with weather but I believe we won as when needed the rain held off to give us a marvelous weekend camp. Friday and saturday nights were great, Fire marshaling went well and my new gloves certainly helped stack the wood where I wanted it to create a good fire, not many complaints this year about being cold. One unnecessary incident which was totally preprogrammed, enough said.
This was definitely one of our better September camps, I hope you all enjoyed it.
