It also has the alternative title ALABAMA WOMAN BLUES. I found a video on YouTube of Ken Mayall and Jim Bruce, who call themselves the Acoustic Blues Travellers, playing MOBILE-TEXAS LINE. They sing these words: If you ever go down the Mobile-Texas line, Did you ever go down, down the Mobile-Texas line? Well, one thing I gotta ask you, did you see that girl o' mine? I've rode the Central, boys. I've rode the L&M. I rode the Central, boys. I rode the L&M. Well, those Alabama women, they look like Central men. Don't you cry, mama. Your daddy's goin' away. Now, don't you cry, mama. Now your daddy's goin' away. Well, you know I hate to leave, but I'm comin' back one day. Look to the sky, mama, and tell me, what do you see? Look to the sky, mama. Now tell me, what do you see? You see the same old sun, and it's shinin' down on me. So if you ever go down the Mobile-Texas line, If you ever go down, down the Mobile-Texas line, Well, one thing I gotta ask you, did you see that girl o' mine? |

The 'Central' would be (given the Mobile reference) the Illinois Central, since the Central Railroad of Georgia does not run to Mobile. Padre |
