FREEDOM!

That's what you get

I say that's what you get

That's what you get for changing your mind

And after all this time
I just hope you understand
Sometimes the clothes
Do not make the man

I'll hold on to my freedom
May not be what you want from me
Just the way it's got to be
Lose the face now
I've got to live

And I have. Far better, and not for worse.

Yeah, a bit. Hey, the tenth is tin. Maybe I'll have a tin of sardines to celebrate my celebate.

Congratulations to the three of you! (including your wife, Rap)

gnu, I wish you all good things. Among my own discoveries was that I found that the single life is easier. The victories are just as sweet and the failures are more private. Nothing is perfect- so I chose which has the fewest negatives. For me. That is NOT true for everyone, Rapaire.

I will celebrate...I plan to visit Moncton tomorrow, and enjoy the tidal bore...and a bit of Moncton "Bird watching" downtown, near an old haunt...Cosmo.

Maybe I will even buy a new pair of Birkenstocks at the local downtown Italian shoe shop..where I bought my last ones?

Ed... Get a bench seat at in front of Assumption place between 9:30 and 10:30. Wear good wrap-around sunglasses.

The Club Cosmopolitan. I scuffed the dance floor there many, too many, nights.

At the Bore Park, seek out the Saxby Gale plaque if you haven't seen it. It's an eerie feeling to look at the water mark and then look to the opposite shore.

That wise old philosopher, Socrates, offered advice 2500 years ago..

Antisthenes: ". . . why don't you train Xanthippe instead of having a wife who is of all living women - and I believe of all that ever have been or will be - the most difficult to get on with?"

Socrates: "Because I notice that people who want to become good horsemen keep not the most docile horses but ones that are high-spirited, because they think that they can control these, they will easily manage any other horses. In the same way, since I wish to deal and associate with people, I have provided myself with this wife, because I'm quite sure that, if I can put up with her, I shall find it easy to get on with any other human being."

BTW, Ed.... I wish there were pics and vids of the bore before the causeway was built. Check out this pic.
Note the width of the river and compare that to the "green space" on either side of the river... that green space used to be river. At thr right time of year and the right time of the moon that bore could be three feet high. THAT was impressive. What you will see (saw at 5:41) at 6:09 is kind of embarassing to us who remember the real bore.
