Not a lover of bluegrass/country music but gave this a listen & the words are great. Thank you for the introduction to this gentleman olddude.

Oh thank you, Kev is just a dad who write music with his kids .. his oldest is 13 and just learning banjo. Kevin's lyrics always blow me away, he just has a way with words ... But like I said he is just a dad who plays for his kids ... like I do .. not a pro by any means

It's lovely, Dan...and I'm listening to Forrest playing that banjo, seeing his Dad's proud smile on his face...

I like the tender sentiments of the song, and the matching tender words Kevin uses to describe the song.

Lizzie
Kevin is a peach he is just the kindest person you will ever meet. He is all about his kids and teaching them the Appalachian music he grew up with and writing new music in the Appalachian style. Not a pro, just plays for his friends and his kids but boy I wish I had his skill with lyrics

Not only is a well written song with lovely instrumentals, it's also a pleasure to harmonize with Kevin's singing. Thanks, Dan.

thanks for posting this.

I like the way the long, long notes evoke that old-time mountain sound.

Thankyou, Dan. That's beautiful. I just watched the Ian Dury* film and was feeling a bit shell shocked. Now I'm calm again.

Blood on Sandy River

One of Kev's songs about Native Americans, He records this stuff at home and plays all the instruments himself unless his kids join him

seems as if it is from experience...
(singing to a love one passed on)
I certainly hope he is not a widower.

this sounds so genuine...I wish him all the best!

(robbing piggy banks? a dangerous character!!)

Kevin's music is just so simple yet so down home Appalachian , it presses all the right buttons with me. He really doesn't know how good he is. He is just a dad who writes music for his kids .. I can relate to that for sure.   I am a big Kevin fan .. he keeps touting my music but he is the real deal I think ...

Like I said the nicest person you could ever meet. There is not a mean bone in his body ... He reminds me of Emmy Lou personality wise
