Please make yourself known to him and sign the MudCat Register which he'll be keeping as a souvenir of his trip to the UK. He also has a 'little black book' which Catters are writing messages in for him to keep as a memento. You'll enjoy his playing and he IS very cute!! |

29 Aug 10 - 05:26 AM (#2975017) Subject: RE: Ash Nr Canterbury UK 28 Aug 2010 From: Richard Bridge I should correct a possible misapprehension. I was asked, at Ash, about my "two self-penned songs". They weren't. "Hilda's Cabinet Band" is by Lal Waterson (and a version with Martin Carthy on guitar can be found on you tube) "A Living Wage" is by Ron Kavana. In both cases I have been at them slightly. |
29 Aug 10 - 05:53 AM (#2975022) Subject: RE: Ash Nr Canterbury UK 28 Aug 2010 From: Don(Wyziwyg)T Most impressive lineup, and really difficult to decide between some acts performing simultaneously, one in the bar, and one in the garden. I enjoyed every minute, but the real high spot came during Capella's performance, when Leslie proved the power of suggestion by calling down the first drops of rain of the whole day, before she and Tony backstepped neatly under cover of the marquee. Stunning! As was their singing, but from now on I shall think of Lslie as England's most successful rainmaker. LOL Don T. |
29 Aug 10 - 06:02 AM (#2975029) Subject: RE: Ash Nr Canterbury UK 28 Aug 2010 From: VirginiaTam You are right Don about the problem of simultaneous acts. Difficult to know where to place myself. Luckily I was in enough discomfort, I had to keep getting up and moving around. So I am pretty please with where I ended up. Wondering about the set up outside. This year I could not hear the performers when they were up on the rise. Last year I could hear them quite well. Was it just me, or did others have this problem as well? Big thanks to Adrian O and the Chequers Inn people. Poor Adrian he was rushing back and forth between indoor and outdoor venues, playing timekeeper as well as MC and hawking for the raffles too. Maybe he needs an assistant to delegate some of that work to. Anyway I hope they are resting well this morning. p.s. I want guitar lessons from that chap with the resonator. Wow! |

29 Aug 10 - 09:42 AM (#2975139) Subject: RE: Ash Nr Canterbury UK 28 Aug 2010 From: Girl Friday That's the way Tam . I have a house- a fairly untidy one at that but I try never to go upstairs without something that needs to be taken up, then do something once up there. Trouble is - I get sidetracked. Hope the pain is less today- shame you can't take anything, but moving about is wise. |

29 Aug 10 - 07:26 PM (#2975468) Subject: RE: Ash Nr Canterbury UK 28 Aug 2010 From: Girl Friday The mystery of Ben's whereabouts has been solved. He had to go and register for his college course on Friday, and was very late getting back. As we thought, he was home alone all weekend, and didn't answer the phone. He didn't have his mobile on either. He assures us he will be at Wat Tyler Festival, where he has a slot on the Fab Club Stage. |
