22 Aug 10 - 09:20 PM (#2970749) Subject: Lyr Req: Apple pressing song From: Barbara I'm looking for the rest of the words to the Apple Pressing song on the Betty and the Baby Boomers CD Tumbling Through the Stream of Days. You can find an audio sample here: http://www.bettyandthebabyboomers.com/Tumblingtracklist.html Actually I'd like the whole album or cassette. I tried emailing them but no joy. Blessings, Barbara |

They also have a snailmail address and will accept mailorders for that CD. A bit of a hassle. You can keep searching Amazon and EBay for used CDs/cassettes, too. Also a hassle. |
24 Aug 10 - 04:39 PM (#2972031) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Cider pressing song From: Barbara I saw that the first one was on CD Baby; I wanted an older one, Tumbling Through..., and I wasn't sure when the website had been updated. I hope the address is current as I've now sent off an order snail mail. Thanks Blessings, Barbara |
26 Aug 10 - 10:28 PM (#2973695) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Cider pressing song From: Jim Dixon The song is called APPLE PRESSING and there is a sample at Betty and the Baby Boomers' web site: Oh, the days are warm; the nights are crisp. Turn, turn the apple press. Of all the year this time is best, And oh how fine are the apples! The lakes are misty in the morn. Turn, turn the apple press. The ghost of summer lingers on, And oh how fine are the apples! The geese are flying overhead. Turn, turn the apple press. They call to.... |

Blessings, Barbara I will check out that website, thanks Chris. |
28 Feb 11 - 08:44 PM (#3104657) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Apple Pressing (Betty & the Baby Boom From: GUEST Barbara, Thanks for taking the time to write the lyrics out. There are two discrepancies I see in the transcription. They are really slight and they don't alter the meaning to greatly but here they are: In the second stanza The river's misty in the morn (is) The Lakes are misty in the morn. In the fifth stanza We'll pick them clean so they stand straight (is) We'll pick them clean to make them strait And in the last stanza: And when bees and men have drunk their fill ( I recently sang this with her and she wanted it changed to) And when bees and all have drunk their fill Their bandcamp is finished! http://bettyandthebabyboomers.bandcamp.com/track/apple-pressing Best Wishes! 28 Feb 11 - 09:32 PM (#3104679) Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Apple Pressing (Betty & the Baby Boomers) From: Barbara Thanks, Chris. I forgot about the lyric changes. I switched the Lakes to the rivers because I wanted to use it for pressings here in Oregon, but we don't have many lakes. The rivers do the same thing, with the mist rising off them in the morning. I forgot that I'd changed it. I'll see if I can relearn the last verse. Blessings, Barbara |
