Elvis, returning to Earth after a 22 year absence, was set free near Las Vegas, Nevada and according to news reports has an enormous collection of previoulsy unheard FOLK SONGS... Elvis also said that he has not seen Eddie but suspected that Eddie had been abducted by aliens as he had been. Elvis said |

We had an Elvis chuck roast just last week, and I gotta say, he was as good as ever. Blessings, Barbara |

I think Elvis is traveling with the three Regs, Cletus, and company. Wasn't this past week the 22nd anniversary of the (fanfare) "DAY THE KING FELL OFF THE THRONE? |
21 Aug 99 - 12:20 PM (#107192) Subject: RE: BS: Please welcome old friend ELVIS From: CarlZen Eddie is really Elvis incognito. That's why he's been so hard to spot. If you really want to meet Eddie, go to your nearest supermarket checkout line and check out the tabloids. Eddie/Elvis was devouring bat boy and peanut butter sandwiches. (Thats what gives those Elvis roasts such a wonderful flavor.) Love me tender................. |

Wouldn't a nice pair of plaid slacks with a white plastic belt, Aligator golf shirt, and hush puppies be a little more dignified? Rick |

21 Aug 99 - 02:45 PM (#107237) Subject: RE: BS: Please welcome old friend ELVIS From: Lonesome EJ Elvis' 1968 comeback show was on tv here recently, the one where Elvis is sitting in a circle with 4 or 5 members of his band doing rock n' roll, rockabilly, country and gospel tunes with acoustic instruments. I recommend this show to any who would put town the man's talent. He was absolutely great. Unfortunately, at the end of the session, Elvis rises, mops his brow, a Vegas style orchestra kicks in and he sings " Sweet Memories", and you can almost see him donning the cape, the belt, and all of the bullshit personna that came to define him. It's hard to beat the early Sun and RCA stuff, though. LEJ |
21 Aug 99 - 05:32 PM (#107280) Subject: RE: BS: Please welcome old friend ELVIS From: bseed(charleskratz) Leej, I've seen that show. Elvis, without all the crap, was a just plain great singer. I was never an Elvis fan until I saw that--and never a satisfied fan after that because he returned to the crap and never escaped again, as far as I know. --seed |

I've seen it advertised on TV... There is a live band in the theatre, and footage of Elvis is projected onto a screen behind them so the band is playing along with Elvis......
