BS: Boobs Voyage...a few pounds anyway

anActually its a bit over 4 pounds to be exact.

Karen got a long standing wish to day and had breast reduction surgery. Everything went fine and she went from "footballs plus" to baseball size in a bit over 2 hours. I am happy that this woman who completed and continues to fill my life was able to have this done at long last. Even now with the bandaging and all, the difference is dramatic.

I am ecstatic it went so well and a whole load of physical problems will be behind her........everything from rashes to backaches and shoulder pain and never being comfortable lying down and a hundred other problems that J-I size boobs represent. If nothing else, she is looking forward to buying bras off the rack! Special order $75-$125 bras are a real problem and even so, finding one that is is even remotely comfortable is rare.

My best friend got her wish today and we're both happy campers (although she's the one in pain for a few days). So we wished them a Boobs Voyage at a party the other night I thought I'd get all of you abreast of the situation.

Congratulations to Karen for getting her wish! She's lucky to have a caring and understanding partner to help her through this. I hope that she will heal quickly and thoroughly.

Good on her....I can just imagine having to live with such weight up there....but she's still got the biggest boob of them all....her husband...but i don't think any amount of surgery will fix that....shock therapy maybe, but no surgery...

Bite your tongue, Amergin. :)

Pat, my niece, an RN, did the same thing a few years ago and it's hard to credit the amazing difference it made for her. She now walks proudly and lightly; she is graceful and lithe. Until I saw her without that load, I didn't realize how much it had bothered her, in so many ways.

Good for Karen.

2 of my friends have had reduction surgery - one is a short woman whose (female) surgeon said to her "My dear, why didn't get this done years ago" as she was weighed down by enormous pendulous breasts. Like your niece, Ebbie, she now walks comfortably.

I heard a "joke" years ago about an agent telling a nightclub owner he had this wonderful artiste - she was (insert huge number of inches & gi-normous cup size) - "What's her act?" "She crawls onto stage & tries to stand up"

funny but not funny for those who suffer physical & mental pain for years.

best wishes to Karen

Gosh..outpatient surgery! cross-eyed smiley!

OH! for a flat chest!

This is how I KNOW that God is a man' cos if he were a she, we'd all be walking around neat and trim and sensible, rather than with bra sizes that encroach into the 'WMD' and 'You CANNOT Be Serious!' section of the underwear departments. LOL

I hope Karen feels pain free in no time, Spaw...and I can see the smile on her face when you take her shopping in the lingerie department for the first time in ages.....

Ah, you hadn't thought about that bit, eh?

Well, get your wallet out, fast!

My cousin decided to have reduction after icy pavement, weight of her breasts and gravity conspired in one nasty accident. She fell breaking both wrists.

She and her 2 adult daughters all had reduction at the same time and wondered why they hadn't don't years before as the back, shoulder and neck pain even headaches linked to neck pain vanished immediately.

This sounds like a reasonable choice. If you're going in for elective surgery, let it be for a good reason.

I've gained some weight over the last couple of years, and I have to acknowledge that the increase in bosom volume is the most uncomfortable part of it (and the reason I need to make sure I lose the weight again).

She's doing great! Hey, she's my best friend and the best thing that ever happened in my life so be assured I can't do enough for her......especially after all she's had to go through with me.

Maggie brings up the point about elective surgery but to get the insurance in on this it has to be shown as a medical necessity..........and that's just wrong. In Karen's case, every Doc she sees was more than happy to endorse the surgery and we of course had to dance through all the medical need hooks. But the truth is this needs to be covered anyway. All the problems created from "WMD Size" (thank you Lizzie-Karen loved that one) breasts seem to me to qualify as some kind of"syndrome' or something.

BTW......We had the "unveiling" this morning and all looks good both medically and otherwise. She can look down and see her feet which hasn't happened since puberty! She says that even now with the swelling and surgical pain she feels "lighter" already.

Thanks for all the good thoughts,

Spaw

Great news, Spaw. Now...what about getting that oversized willy of yours "cut down to size"? You've been regaling us for years with tales of how you can pee off the Golden Gate Bridge and touch the surface of San Francisco Bay with the end of it and that sort of thing. Well, that simply can't be practical. I hate to think of the physical burden it poses, not to mention the public embarrassment of having to go everywhere pushing a tarp-covered wheelbarrow around in front of you with one of those circular hose-storing fixtures mounted in it. Just bite the bullet, man, and get it done! Chop, chop. The medical profession is achieving miracles these days, you know, and you probably wouldn't feel any pain at all. ;-)

Just as an update.......Karen had a few problems and even had to go back to surgery, but all was soon made right and she's really well. We have a Dr. appontment on Tuesday and if all is looking good she is going back to work Tuesday night.

She looks fantastic and the look on her face when she now looks in the mirror is the payoff. We went shopping the other day for a new outfit.......and that was the first time in years I can remember her actually trying something on!

Thanks for all your good thoughts and once I get this damn computer back up to full health, we'll post a few pix......clothed of course......LOL.....although the Doc had some bare breast "before" shots that even Karen could not believe after only a week......."Geez, did they really look like that?"   They did for the past 25 years anyway....(:<))

(Too bad some make the mistake of intentionally making their breasts that large & larger....*sigh*....the sad stories I have read)

The trend lately in models and actresses seems to be to have breasts that look like a half-tennis ball inserted under the skin. They don't look normal.

True, Kat. ;-)

Another thing I long for is the days when one "defeated the foe" rather than "kicked ass"!

Argh! It makes me feel sick the way people talk these days. I am witnessing the devolution of the human race.

"So I'm like, 'That is sooooo oooold! And she's like, 'Whatever.' And he's like, 'So, when do we eat?'"

Ha! ;-) Well, what I like about Elves is, they don't talk that way. I've always basically wanted to resign from the human race and be an Elf...although when I read about Joan of Arc, then I decide that one can be human and still rise to the heights of nobility, so all is not lost.

A friends young son developed female size breasts as a youngster. He waqs razzed alot and was quite self conscious....never taking his shirt off in public...like in the pool.

I recall visiting a pool with my kids and my friends boy. A pool attendant asked the boy to remove his top, or leave as the pool rules indicated no tops for males. We took the attendant aside, and rcplained the situation. He would not budge on the rules, and the boy had to leave. Nedless to say, a letter went to the authorities.

When he reached 16 he had a reduction operation. It made all the difference in the world, whan it came to his self-confidence. I later learned that the condition, and razzing, is not uncommon for quite a few young boys.

It's a shame when people let "the rules" think for them instead of taking that incredibly bold step for once in their lives and thinking for themselves.
