Paul,

Your Mya was beautiful and must have been a real inspiration to a lot of people. She sounds like an incredible and lovely person.

I was just wondering about this the other day and now that I've heard the clip of "Farewell", I know I will love the whole cd. Beautiful, haunting, and poignant.

I will email you as soon as I send the cheque out. Thanks for letting us know. What a wonderful, meaningful and lasting gift to her memory, esp., I'm sure, for all those who knew and loved her and all of us who know you through the Mudcat.

Love,

katlaughing

Hi Paul,

I'm so happy that your CD-tribute to your wife has finally made it into the world. I would love to buy a copy but I'm trying to work out a way to do it without donating a significant chunk of money to *the bank* in overseas cheque fees rather than to your memorial fund. If I could somehow use a credit card then I would only be paying the cost of the CD and postage & handling. I don't know if there is a way to maybe donate to Mudcat at the same time and ask Max to forward a cheque to you for the CD. Thinking, thinking....

The other possibility is that, if there were more Oz'Catters wanting to buy a copy we could send it in as one order and only pay one overseas cheque fee and not lots of separate ones. Still thinking....

any ideas?

How about converting to Canadian dollars and sending cash, knowing that Musicman has rock solid integrity?

Margarita,

I don't like the idea of sending cash in the mail - I'm too sceptical of the security of mail especially when it is going through a whole lot of processes like going overseas,e tc. It's not that I don't trust Musicman - a man who puts together a CD like this, well, that just proves what sort of person he is.

It's that I don't have a lot of faith in the processes in between.

Thanks for the idea though.

Alison,

I'm still thinking. Dave Swan said he may be able to help but I don't know how, yet, so I'll keep yuo posted.

Is there anyway that MusicMan could provide them through the Mudcat, for a small fee over and above the cost which goes to the memorial? That way you could all buy them with credit cards. Maybe he could do a go-between and MM could ship them from there once Max processed the order. Or, maybe Wally at Camsco or Sandy at Folk Legacy could provide such a service. Really, I think it could be any Mudcatter who has a retail outfit and accepts credit cards. It would be esp. easy, if you all got together and bought the lot with one credit card, one purchase, then settled up with one another.

kat,

who needs computers to communicate when we can read each other's minds across continents and oceans. That thought struck me today to see if we could buy it through Mudcat and add a bit extra as a commission to the 'Cat. I was just going to write it here but you got in before me.

Wally MacNow of Camsco Music. There is a link in here somewhere, plus he posts. See his current thread, New Catalogue Additions 8/23 (or something or other). He, like Sandy, yes Paton, gives a share of his profit to the Mudcat for everything he sells through here.

I hope it works out. I am anxious ot hear the whole thing!

That's lovely, MM. I signed the guestbook. Sorry I didn't do that earlier. Yours is first on my list for next payday. The only drawback to the Mudcat is ALL those CD's I want!:-)

Musicman. Thought you might like to know that I'm playing cuts from the waltz album on Acoustic Workshop. Even though CIUT's internet connection is down you can hear them here now that Max is kindly archiving the show. There's one on this week's show and I'll play a few more over the next few shows. Nice work.

Thanks very much Rick! I appreciate the airplay.

Also, watch for the album being available through Folk Legacy in the very near future. They are on their way to Sandy as we speak (sort of) and he will take the overseas (and anyone else who wants to use credit cards!) orders for me.

Thanks everyone for your support in this endeavour and enjoy the music..... a true labour of love.....

Musicman,

Thank you for creating such a beautiful CD. I picked it up from the post office this afternoon, and just finished listening to it. I'll be listening to it again another couple of times tonight. I'm glad I ordered one for my sister too, because I am sure she will love it as well.

The last track, Farewell, raised the hairs on the back of my neck - haunting and sad, with that far off sound, like hearing the sound of a flute floating on the air on a misty night. I like the different arrangements/feeling of each set, too.

Thank you, I'll treasure it always. I wish we had had it for the wedding. The singer and guitarist at the ceremony performed Buachaill on Eirne/Come by the Hills and it sounded beautiful, but we could have played this CD at the reception. It would have been appropriate, I think, to celebrate our wedding and to celebrate the life of the wife of someone special here at Mudcat.

Thanks, too, to Sandy, Caroline and friends at Folk Legacy. I only ordered it last week (Oct 7?) and it is over here already. It only took 6 days to get to Oz, no, really just 5 days with the time zone differences. It's a world record, I'm sure. It usually takes up to 2 weeks (on a fast trip) to get things I have ordered from the U.S.

Thank you Helen for your words.... It means alot to me that others are able to hear the emotion in the playing. Doing the whole project has been a great healing process for me and, although I must listen to it 3-4 times a day myself (sometimes more), the music still carries the same effect on me as when I was first able to play the finished product.

Thank you for supporting this project of ours, please be sure to sign in on the guestbook when you have the chance.

With sincere thanks,

Paul (musicman)

Paul/musicman,

I'll definitely sign the guestbook. I feel privileged to have contributed to this project in some small way. I am still impressed by the idea of doing a CD as a tribute to your wife, and I have been thinking about how it would be a healing process, expecially since I have listened to it (at last). I can hear the healing through the expression of lots of complex emotions in every track on the CD.

Just so that newbies and others know what we are talking about: Paul/musicman asked for suggestions for
Celtic Waltzes to include on this CD.
