A lovely cheerful song by Heidi Talbot. Only half is available on YouTube, great song.

Has anyone got the lyrics please?

Thanks,

Brian

Yes, a very nice song. The lyrics aren't all that easy to decipher. I'll see what I can do this weekend but won't mind a bit if someone beats me to it.

"We are everything"

Here's what we've got so far, it's like the 'old days', play a bit, scribble it down and then do it again.

What a lovely happy Cajun-like offering. It's going to be a 12 string and harmonica job for me . . .

EVERYTHING
(Heidi Talbot)

We are fire, we are friction
We are the light falling down from the stars
We are truth and we are fiction
We are everything

We are moving, we are motion
We are the sap rising in the trees
We are the waves at the edge of the ocean
We are everything

It's just a butterfly ride
No outside or inside
Every question is an answer
Now the answer's aye . . . yes yes

We are stardust, we are golden
We are anything that comes to mind
We are feelings now beholden
We are everything

Instrumental

It's just a butterfly ride
No outside or inside
Every question is an answer
Now the answer's aye . . . yes yes

We are laughter, we are laughin'
All again and none nowhere
We are before and we are after
We are everything

We are everything x 2

Still trying to work out these lyrics myself think that's pretty good so far except for I think it's "now the answer's ARE...... Yes yes"

Brian, I just realised I got that wrong. The Heidi, I was thinking of is somebody else, so please ignore my link. Another one bites the dust. Les

I think Heidi Talbot has a gorgeous voice, she's great to hear live and her albums are beautiful. Added to that, as far as I know from meeting her, briefly, she is a lovely lady, too. I have "Everything" on the CD and the lyrics are printed as below but it was teeny weeny writing, weird font and late at night when I looked! She is well worth seeing especially if she is with Boo Hewerdine or John McCusker
:-)

Allmusic.com says EVERYTHING was written by "Dodds / Hewerdine / MacColl / Reader."

ASCAP.com says those are Roy Dodds, Mark [Boo] Hewerdine, Calum MacColl, and Sadenia [Eddi] Reader.

Those people all worked on Eddi Reader's album "Driftwood" (2002), which also contains EVERYTHING.

Surprisingly, lots of other people have written songs called EVERYTHING.
