I can play the song on several instruments, I know the melody quite well. I don't have the skill to write the notes out and the words I don't know at all. They are in German, High Germen, I belive. Got a number of German CDs and tracks when I was learning German. Trouble is, quite a few were Tyrolean/Zillerthal. Bit like learning English by listening to the White Heather Club. I created a midi as well. I didn't know I had it in me to do that. It has a moderate waltz tempo and begins with a pick up note. I grew up in central Wisconsin in an area which was settled by many people of German origin. I heard, or at least I think heard, this song played and sung at parties and other events when I was young. In fact as I recall I was told no self respecting bride would have considered her marriage to be fully consummated if 'Ich bin ein Schweizer Bub'쳌 had not been sung at her wedding dance. As I said before I can play the tune on several instruments and have done so for nearly 50 years. Not being from a German background I just don't know the words. If any one out there would like a copy of the midi or the notes I could try to sent them to you. Thanks Gary |
