04 Oct 10 - 10:46 AM (#2999353) Subject: RE: Ingleton FF 1-3 Oct 10, anyone? From: GUEST,linda Whoops pushed wrong button before I finished what was going to say. Yeah had a good festival, didn't see any of the acts though, busy going round the sing a rounds in the 3 horse shoes and the wheatsheaf. Was dissapointed with the silly song contest though, thought the guy in shorts singing the medly of Beatles parodies, didn't deserve 3rd place, he should have won,who were the judges? |
05 Oct 10 - 05:04 AM (#2999872) Subject: RE: Ingleton FF 1-3 Oct 10, anyone? From: GUEST,Banjiman away from home Had a great time at the concert in the 3 Horse Shoes on Sunday afternoon. (couldn't make the rest of the weekend). Lovely harmonies BBP with Uncle Chris. The massed ranks of Arrowsmith:Bushby, Old Chyvers and Chris Milner singing "The Visitor" was sensational. I saw somebody videoing it, be great to see it! Good times. |
05 Oct 10 - 05:34 AM (#2999893) Subject: RE: Ingleton FF 1-3 Oct 10, anyone? From: Acorn4 Had a great first visit - the Saturday singaround in the Hill Inn was the highlight. We haven't visited this area that much and it was great to bump into a lot of people we'd not met before. On the question of the comedy songs, it is, after all, just someone's opinion and only a bit of fun. Personally I would have gone for the "Barnsley Elvis" which I thought was hilarious, but the winner may have got the nod because he didn't use a cribsheet. Well worth the trip from Leicester! |
05 Oct 10 - 05:59 AM (#2999907) Subject: RE: Ingleton FF 1-3 Oct 10, anyone? From: GUEST,BBP at work Thanks for your kind words Banjiman, sorry I couldn't stay 'til the end and The Visitor. Had been feeling a touch "throaty" and was getting progressively worse. Now fighting a full-on cold - raging head, sore throat and shares in Kleenex. It was a damn good weekend though!. Thanks again, one and all. Deirdre |

06 Oct 10 - 08:58 AM (#3000914) Subject: RE: Ingleton FF 1-3 Oct 10, anyone? From: Mr Happy An absolutely stupendous weakend! Echoing those above, great to meet up with old fiends to play, sing, carouse & meet new folk as well. Like a number of others, arrived home Monday with beginnings of heavy cold/ flu-like symptoms, so felt lucky struck with lurgy after the event. Great musician sesh Saturday in Wheatsheaf & loads diverse song seshes there also - will definitely be back next year! |

06 Oct 10 - 10:56 AM (#3001011) Subject: RE: Ingleton FF 1-3 Oct 10, anyone? From: GUEST,muppett Aye it certainly was a good un, though like Otley, the numbers were lower this year. Got soaked walking up to the hill Inn on Sunday, but so far no signs of any cold yet. A really good song contest this year as well, well done to Tony and to Terry who piped me to post. |
06 Oct 10 - 11:00 AM (#3001016) Subject: RE: Ingleton FF 1-3 Oct 10, anyone? From: Mr Happy GUEST,muppett, Re; the comic song event, I mentioned you I'd've liked to've had a go, but the distance away being a prob. Any chance influencing committee hold it some where in village next year? |
